Why is TGK popular?

I started to watch him because I have a habit of following most lolcows I come across. I like to observe them, especially if they're on DA. It's one of the best outlets to show just how much of an ego some lolcows have, especially ones with no artistic talent, but they've deluded themselves into thinking otherwise. I find him interesting, but he's certainly not up to par with more popular lolcows like Chris.
 
I'm still wondering this same question. I'm guessing because he's slightly different than the other LOLcows we've come across. He seems less dangerous than Jace, more tolerant than Molay, and more childlike than Chris. But that's just me.
 
If we're using Chris and Jace as yardsticks, it'd be difficult for anyone else to measure up. As for Jay, the tortured mental gymnastics he performs to maintain his delusions is fascinating to me, to say nothing of the trainwrecky shuddercow aspects.

Funnily enough, given his "performance" in stream when the focus was off of him, I predict that he may actually become more interesting the less people are interested in him. His monstrous ego is dwarfed only by his craving for attention and, if not validation, then adulation. He's had a taste of the high life, and I'm curious about what will result if it then drifts away or is taken away by something else.
 
I started watching him when I saw that he was emotionally and mentally abusive to his girlfriend, and I wanted to see a happy ending. And then I wanted to watch long enough to see exactly what was wrong with him - and that's a rabbit hole that runs pretty deep.
 
I think first he needs to be built up to the epic god he thinks he is. Have some fun with watching that, then drop the floor out from under him. Trolling the shit out of him on his third stream is just gonna make him quit. He knows it mostly trolls following him now, and he doesn't like it. Let's all suck it up, and suck up to him for awhile.

I knew GK was a LOLcow before it was cool. </hipster>

@TopperHay, @granitoons and I saw the shit he was doing before the original thread got made. He actually was a LOLcow then but not as I know today, he mainly begged for requests on livestreams and was rude to my friend. Didn't know him properly and wasn't 'interesting' till I saw the thread in late May and the Christmas party journal too. Then when he said he was going to be civilised, I had respect but then, he humiliated me on livestream and that is when I lost it :heart-empty:. It was in early June.

Sonichu Girls.

The amazing drama involving the love triangle between GK, his real life girlfriend, and "Cassandra" reeled me in. His combination of egomania and social naivete means he has potential. I like to see assholes get taken down.
 
My interest with Jay is more academic rather than for entertainment, which is the same for anyone else that I follow on this site. I'm fascinated by eccentric people and outsider artists, so I spend a lot of time trying to understand how they've developed and what causes them to act how they do. I find Jay interesting because his output shows such a strong dichotomy between immaturity and psychopathy it's difficult to pin down what exactly is wrong with him.

There's also a personal element as well. When I first saw this picture of Jay it immediately reminded me of one of my friends from school, who acted and looked exactly like him minus the mullet (I was an anxious kid with low self-esteem, so I had pretty shitty friends). I also lived with someone who had Histrionic Personality Disorder for 5 years who Jay shares a lot of mannerisms with, so in some ways it's a bit like watching an episode of the Twilight Zone examining what would happen if these two people amalgamated and lived in a completely different environment.

As others have mentioned, it seems like the only way to deal with him is to kiss his ass. Just as Chris had a bevy of loyal fans, maybe Jay needs this too.

I'm not buying his book, though.
 
Goldie was incredibly entertaining when he didn't know quite yet that he was a laughing stock. The sweethearts affair was fun, but I hardly ever check out anything Goldie does anymore. I'd rather see his obnoxiously arrogant DA journals than him livestreaming, since that did nothing but boost his ego, if that's even possible. We all know him claiming to be popular in school is bullshit when you see how he reacts to conflict; he's constantly whining about bullies, being a victim, saying how anyone who teases or asks him the hard questions is scum, and just quietly withdraws from something instead of acting like an angry kid who always has to win at the make-pretend games. He was my favorite LOLcow for a time, but currently he's just boring and not amusing. I'm sure over time without anyone giving him attention aside from here will make him bounce back, but there's no way I'm going to waste my time pretending to kiss the guy's bony ass just to get some interaction out of him. It was better when we didn't try to pretend to be his fans.

TGK is popular because he's made a breakthrough. He's the first person to create an image that can render the viewers completely sterile.

If this fell into the wrong hand, we'd have a full scale Children of Men emergency on our hands.
 
GK is new and fresh. Although he knows he has trolls, he still interacts.

What captivated me about GK is his combination of harshness and weakness: on the one hand sadism, amorality, torture fantasies, abusiveness, and selfishness; on the other, physical feebleness, friendlessness, laziness, squeamishness, and devotion to cuteness. Ultimately, reality must force his contradictions into conflict.

Also, that voice. :surprised:
 
I think its because he's probably the only lolcow on here who doesn't have an ED page, and so people are scrambling to get info from him and trying to be the next Clyde Cash
