What other choice does the right have? Right wing "leaders" almost always chicken out of doing anything at all, out of fear of retaliation from the left. Of course, the retaliation comes anyway. They are perpetually afraid of the left doing things to us they are actually already doing. Thus they cave in and try to placate the left, always being moderate, always having no effect on the psyche of the left wing. The left continues to push their agenda on us, emboldened by the fact that we are apparently total pushovers. If this goes on forever, we are guaranteed to lose long term.
Trump was the only man who was both radicalized enough to actually strike back in any meaningful sense and also had a real chance to become the president. That's ultimately why I was, and still am, on his side.
