It's funny as fuck because the Japanese don't give a shit. Nintendo Treehouse, Sega of America, and Sony of America can't do shit when it's corporate japan making the calls for most shit.
Remember how much all-woman e-sports teams get celebrated? Wasn't there some twitch partner that bragged about how she and her team got 2nd place at some tourney for Apex or sth but it turned out that she and her team were just the second team to be eliminated.

Ah that ws the "girlfriend" of our beloved deer Stephan. The dude who wants to ban voice chat because it would hurt his feelings. And all female e-sports teams? There are some funny stories like this team called Siren in LoL who got wasted every time they tried to compete (one of their opponents said when he was asked how they managed to win so easily "We just needed to outsmart them"). Or this Russian female LoL team that was defeated before the timer for voluntary surrender was over. It just doesn't work because there aren't enough women / girls in compettive e-sports to form teams.

Female here, I just want one simple thing: a fun game.
If your game isn't fun (read: political, just a bad game, or some character always verbally punching me in the face about how gay/depressed/trans/asexual/ whatever-the-fuck they are), you can fuck right off.
It has been years and companies are still bleeding money bending over for 1% of the population that won't buy the game that was catered to them anyway. Why is it so hard to understand?
On another note, what happened to those comical sex-happy characters? They weren't even political, just go up to you with "hey darling, lets go to bed right now, I dont care what gender you are. If you say no, I'll go to the pants of someone else" and sexual innuendos on nearly every line, yet they seemingly faded off at the same time SJWs got their hands on the industry.

Honestly, I liked video games better when there were no cut scenes and I could just kind of make up the story in my head...so it could be whatever I wanted it to be.

Man, I played DoA 5 a bit when the trailers for 6 came out. It was pretty interesting how the whole guard parry attack triangle worked. Pretty sad that the only competitor to Tekken is gone now.

Six added a new character that sucked, but also added a Miguel-clone that got most of his heavy damage off the wall and environmental chains and it was sick as FUCK, but the SJWs threw a fit and DOA6 got cut from EVO. I genuinely think that killed the game in the West. Apparently it did OK in japan but just... fuck.

This has more to do with the intimidating tone the SJWs use when they voice their "demands" into development. Their outcry was crazy enough to get DoA6 outta EVO, try to imagine if the dangerhairs and nu-males ever get their hands into waifu shit like Honkai Impact, FGO or Arknights, the internet would suffer the great flood of soy.

but those same people that cry about it are not the ones who even buy videogames, they don't usually play them at all, they simply use gaming as another platform to push their shitty agendas. Devs and gaming media and events are at fault for being retarded enough to hire a bunch of those assholes as PR, HR and management, letting them dictate policy so they can shit on the actual consumer base and is absurd to me. Who cares if a bunch of danger hairs are screeching if your product is selling and those danger hairs are not even the people going to be profitable to you no matter how much you appease them, even when games are made to pander to them they bomb and only stir up shit.

That's probably what pushed them from sitting on the fence about it to go all in, but I think another kiwi had it right when they blamed advertising. (I can't remember who said it or what thread). Many straight men use adblock and, when they don't, they are usually pretty good at ignoring it - in part because since the sixties it has been recognised that women generally have the purchasing power in a household, and since then ads have been made more for women than men even when it's for a man's product (like razors.)

Or how they write female characters. I get offended by how they all seem to be written as the same kind of woman. Not every woman on the planet is the exact same, y'know! Maybe that's why I like male characters more. They're a more colorful lot, they're given more interesting personalities and backstories. But with females, nowadays it's either "SHE'S SUPER TOUGH, FUCK THE PATRIARCHY *tumblr nose*" or "She's an ice queen with big tits and Blizzard-style armor, filthy weeb, don't touch".
I'd like to see someone willing to make an ass of themselves if it means moving the plot forward. Like... Lucille Ball, in video game form.
