Wikia / FANDOM - The ugly result of giving aspies control of their own wiki websites

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I just found a girl with a whopping 18,122 edits on the iCarly Wiki.

She should put that on a resume. It would fool me for a second into thinking that's a real accomplishment.

According to Wikipedia, there are 109 episodes of iCarly. That means this person amassed one wikia edit for every 10-15 seconds of a Nickelodeon show for preteens.

Through autism all things are possible

No autism-related discussion would be complete without our old pal, Sonic! The Sonic Fanon Wiki. It's almost like Chris discovered how to clone himself, and then all the clones decided to start a wiki. In lieu of pages, I'll let these images from the Wiki speak for themselves:

Heh, looked for Chase the hedgehog (a few of you might know that... exceptional individual, who has been making MSPaint art for years without improving at all) on that Sonic Fanon Wikia but found this instead

Whats an Echindahog?

Half hedgehog, half echidna, fully autistic.

Also, I looked at that page, and found a couple gems:
The character does have some moments when he isn't so upset and angry, but.......it's not a lot...so he's mostly all like, "I HATE THE WORLD" Sort of person.
However, the man who had taken care of Chase had mistaken him as a girl, for the fact he sort of sounded like own and sorta did look like one, and he wore a pink dress. Due to Chase's aattitude, it wasn't long intill the man had figured out that he was really a boy. His attire then changed to a white long sleeved and black sweats. Chase was more or less somebody that you could TRY to depend on for things like cleaning, but you would end up in a bigger mess, do to the fact that NO MATTER WHAT, Chase cannot clean!
Chase doesn't have much of a weakness, execpt for when he sees any of his family members in trouble or near death, even if he completely hates that person. It'll weaken him since they would be distracting his mind, but it will only be a temporary weakness, other than that, Chase doesn't like fire anywhere near him unless he needs to warm up, but other than that, he will scream and run off if you light anything with fire.
Also, here's the picture they use:

As you could probabally tell, he looks similar to Romano from APH Hetalia.

Oh dear lord the Sonic Fanon Wiki. There are some truly terrible things in that wiki, but I think that the funniest articles are of the characters that belong to the admins. They attempt to write serious articles detailing these terrible fan characters and they end up being really drawn out and hilarious.

This one is probably my favorite, the colors on this guy are absolutely unbelievable.

The thing with fanon wikis is that no one outside of the author and maybe his/her friends are going to care about what they write. They spend all that time writing these Harry Potter-length articles for...what, exactly? Unless I'm, like, a friend of the author or something, I'm just going to look at this and be like, "TL;DR." It's just a big waste of effort. Which makes that admin character's infobox slightly more humorous, due to their dislikes being "wasting time and generally pointless things."
And this is coming from someone who used to do it. Years and years ago, when I was about 13 or 14, I wrote articles on the Star Wars Fanon Wiki (no, they're not still there). Know how many people read them? Not many. Eventually, I took a look at my work and thought, "is this REALLY something that I want to be associated with?" So I deleted them, and moved on.

Yeah, it's pretty baffling. It would be easier to understand if this guy was just a kid with nothing to do, but I think he might be an adult.

Some other gems from this admin are literally tails and blue knuckles (his main character, it seems like.)
They are both just as long, just as bad and just as not worth it to skim through.

Another thing I find funny about the Sonic Fanon Wiki is how they have the awards every few seasons. Is that really necessary? Do they have to be assured that their group of friend still like the stupid shit they write in these articles? Popularity contests don't normally do a community much good.

I know it's almost a meme at this point, but...

What is with the Sonic franchise and autists?

From the "Fanon Wikis" thread, regarding the Supernanny fandom wiki:
recurring themes of Japanese ghost children, families with hundreds of adopted kids, bone-breaking, fictional YouTube channels, parents who had their full names legally changed to statements about how they like to abuse children, extremely bizarre and harsh punishments, kids who puke and piss everywhere for fun, and tangentially ranting about things that frustrate the authors. This thing is both horrifying and hilarious. The admin believes she can transform into an otter in the Angry Birds universe at will.
Supernanny has over 33 seasons in this wiki
For comparison, Gunsmoke had 20 seasons. The Simpsons has had 26, as of this date. Also, they're really inconsistent with the timelines. According to them, Supernanny has been running since the mid-80's and will continue to run into the 2030's.

A friend and I run a fan wiki about a certain TV show. If I told you the name of the show, you'd probably think he and I are spergs to the nth degree, but we do our best to maintain quality control there. I've established guidelines for what does and doesn't belong in an article, and what little membership we have that isn't fly-by-night mostly knows what to do.
