OH THANK GOD PHEWI found this gem on a Candy Land wiki of all wikis.
Oh, that nonsense will never end.Sorry if this has been brought up before, but the One Piece wiki has gone full woke. They refer to Yamato as a male now and have this little tidbit at the end of the article:

Never mind that Oda has confirmed she's canonically a woman.
That sucks. Thanks for sharing! I used to love browsing that wiki, but now the admins have politicized and ruined it.Oh, that nonsense will never end.
If you check the talk page, you should see that they were holding an vote until the site's admins butted in and said that "Yamato is trans"
I've posted about it in this thread, last year. Can't say that I've archived it, though.
That retardation has been going on for years with no signs of stopping.Sorry if this has been brought up before, but the One Piece wiki has gone full woke. They refer to Yamato as a male now and have this little tidbit at the end of the article:

Ah man, who would do something like this?Yeah it was the fandom staff that overrode the wiki mods:

What these people don't understand is, if the creator of the content says she's a woman, then she's a woman; all other interpretations cease to be valid (not like they'd know the meaning of that word anyway). They really only have two arguments to make from there: either Oda is wrong and Yamato is a man, or some stupid fucking prescriptive argument about how drawings don't have a sex. In the case of the former, they use tidbits of evidence such as Yamato taking on male stereotypes. The problem with that is that it doesn't mean she sees herself as male--which is another can of worms regarding the insanity of gender theory--but rather wants the same privileges and freedom that males are typically allotted. It doesn't take much critical thinking to look at the context either. When Kin'emon met Nami and co. at Punk Hazard he was, as Nami put it, a chauvinistic pig. Because that's how backwards Wano is, and other nations in One Piece aren't so backwards. Does that make Nami a man by Wano's standards? Does Chopper still believe she is after she lied about it during Thriller Bark? It beckons the question a lot of trannies can't answer, that once rigid sex role stereotyping lightens up and both sexes are allowed more freedom of expression, then wouldn't it erase transgenderism entirely? They have to argue from a place of severe misogyny to say that a woman not conforming to stereotypes = male. In the latter's case, they never actually apply the argument to anything else. Like trees or rocks. But objects serve a purpose in a story, and what they're meant to represent is important for description and internal logic.
Miraheze would probably be the closest analogue. And you could always just rent some web space and run your own instance of MediaWiki or whatever if you're technically inclined.Dumb question, but are there any alternatives to Fandom? Unless they have a monopoly on the wiki "market."
Miraheze is full of the same kind of retards you'd find on FANDOM. Just be a big boy and host your own wiki.Miraheze would probably be the closest analogue. And you could always just rent some web space and run your own instance of MediaWiki or whatever if you're technically inclined.
There really is no alternative to a lot of places that have been taken over by these insane people, there's a market for it but it'd still be hard to get off the ground plus they already have all of the workers and resources. Like, I'd love for an apolitical alternative to AnimeNewsNetwork to come along but truth be told, nobody could probably compete with them even with a relatively large budget because they already have a lot of ties to the industry on top of a lot of very well-read and experienced staff despite whatever you might think of them.Dumb question, but are there any alternatives to Fandom? Unless they have a monopoly on the wiki "market."
I can only recommend this enough. Even if you prefer the "convenience" of Wikia, there are several other things I have encountered through personal experience that make owning and operating your own Wiki that much better and rewarding than relying on Cuckdom. I'll elaborate if there's sufficient interest, including namedropping some of the website's biggest offenders. And you could always just rent some web space and run your own instance of MediaWiki or whatever if you're technically inclined.
