Man, it's so easy to think of Wings as only more recent pathetic self-pitying Wings, but it's vital to remember how he acted when he had money and the ability to get away with it.

And while many people online grew out of being assholes, it's obvious that he hasn't changed one bit, despite his sad-sack routine. You see it in this NYT debacle - the second he thought he had one up on da trolls, Richard couldn't help but scheme and gloat about it publicly.

Because that's who he is inside. He truly seems to have no moral compass at all and only ever acts remorseful when he's trying to dodge consequences.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Wings (by some miracle) hit it big again, he'd go right back to being a rude, narcissistic piece of shit who's cruel to animals, creepy to women, a dick to anyone who can't advance his career, and lacking even a shred of gratitude or loyalty to his friends.

Hard as it is to believe, Richard was kind of a big deal on Youtube for a while. There's a nugget of truth to the idea that he made PKA and other COD players - a lot of those channels might never have gotten off the ground without his involvement early on.

Of course, they also would've crashed and burned if they'd kept such a toxic manchild around. Everybody else grew up and stopped being edgy teenage boys screeching at each other on Xbox, but Richard stayed exactly how he always was and always will be.

I guess it was a product of the time. PKA probably wasn't the first podcast to adapt to shock value for clicks at that time. I personally never really listened to PKA because I simply don't really care about any of them or what they have to say. Not my kind of scene for podcasts.

A few episodes ago Kyle said he believes abortion is murder but he still supports it because it's saved him a few times. Two of the hosts constantly and unironically advocate steroid use. They're constantly talking about stuff like butt sex, roast beef vaginas, and trannies. They haven't matured, everyone just knows they're shit talking and fucking around. With wings the line was blurred a little too much.

The real difference is that they don't let trolling get to them like Wings does. If he wasn't so easy to fuck with no one ever would have cared about the verbal shitposting he did a decade ago. Anyone who actually pays attention to their little corner of the internet should know that a lot of that stuff really is just taken out of context and for the most part Wings is only guilty of being low iq white trash.

No, the real difference is that they have a life outside of streaming. After the surgery, grandma passing and insurance marriage Wings had next to nothing outside of him sitting in his squeaky chair and bitching about his life.
