I guess some of it is just me making assumptions. The hosts were all down for him to come on after learning about the current situation + the missed calls and texts wings. They just needed to confirm with Wings and do some background things to confirm it would safe for their channel.

Edit: As for the reports and how other streamers handle this. It’s always been my believe that if you become a Twitch Partner, you have a representative at Twitch that handles these sort of things.

If our boy Wings hadn’t been such a lazy fucker, he could have dual-streamed for months now and probably gotten his Partnership back by now. He didn’t so until he somehow gets that back I don’t think he has anyone really assigned to him, ao he has to go through the normal appeal channels. I don’t know how these strikes and the false flagging hurt his chances of making partner again.

From what I see now, Wings wastes an hour most streams looking for teammates that he knows and has vetted, unlike back in the day when randoms could sneak in. It's like with people who complain DSP doesn't get fucked with, there's not many trolling avenues when the lolcow insulates themselves.

The NYT writer didn't care about his history of being cyberbullied or all the potential dirt on him and just added that snippet about negative allegations to cover their ass. The news only runs cyberbully stories when the victim is a minor or part of a "protected class". A morbidly obese, southern, white guy with a very sketchy history isn't the right demographic to get a puff piece from the mainstream news.
