As embarrassing as it is, I'm a lot like these wizards. I'm unemployed, have no girlfriend and live with my parents. I am trying to get a job and hope to get my own place, and there are plenty of things I want to learn, so it's not like I've given up on life.

I honestly don't get these wizards, and their lifestyle repulses me.

I feel like being a wizard is more of a state of mind than anything else. Someone can be unemployed, live with family, etc, but if their reasons for being so are that "life is rigged against me because I'm ugly", or "I don't want to work for anything. Just give me shit", or "I can't get a girl because they're all morons and only go after the normalfag 'pretty boys'", then I would have more cause to label someone as a wizard.

We don't have to worry about these guys committing suicide or raping anyone. They're about as likely to do that as Chris.

No, you're no where near as bad as the wizards. You're actively seeking to improve your life and you're not being an obnoxious twat about your problems.
Lets put it this way, it's like falling into a hole. Anybody can fall into a hole, and you shouldn't feel ashamed if you do. It's just that you're the kind of person who would actually get off their ass once they fell and try to climb out, while the wizards would lay on their back screaming for somebody to help them, then bitch about how nobody has pulled them out yet.

Thanks, guys. I wasn't saying I'm as bad as the wizards, just that on the surface I have things in common with them and that I can't understand the mindset. Yeah, I know, quitting and floating through life is tempting at times, but it's a terrible option.

Like I've said before, if you realize you have problems and try to improve yourself, you're farther along in life than Chris (and the wizards, for that matter).

It is predominantly selfish, and you might think you're "ending your pain" when in reality your hurting every single person around you with your selfishness. And being a Wizard is all about being selfish but suicide is the most selfish act a person can do. So it comes to no surprise that they think about it constantly.

You're mother carried you in her womb for 9 months entirely to give you life one day, and committing suicide is spitting in your mother's face and telling her your father should have used a condom. If you're unwilling to do that to your parents, believe me they'll feel like you did it after you go through with it.

There is no question that a 122 page thread for such a small board is a brouhaha.

It is not warranted nearly to this extent because of observation bias begotten by a slow-moving board. This is why the harassment of the developer of Depression Quest was pinned on them - the threads on 4chan B et. al. became deleted from age, but this did not happen on Wizardchan. An examination of the thread in question did not advocate harassment. This did not deter Escapist and other blogs who pinned this on them, putting them on various boards' radars.

The likely motivation for going over the board with a fine toothed comb is delusion and self-aggrandisement so that one's perceived status in the world becomes higher.
