It is not warranted nearly to this extent because of observation bias begotten by a slow-moving board. This is why the harassment of the developer of Depression Quest was pinned on them - the threads on 4chan B et. al. became deleted from age, but this did not happen on Wizardchan. An examination of the thread in question did not advocate harassment. This did not deter Escapist and other blogs pinned this on them, putting them on various boards' radars. Therefore, while this thread pre-dates the incident in question, it would seem that this brouhaha is unwarranted.

The likely motivation for going over the board with a fine toothed comb is delusion and self-aggrandisement so that one's perceived status in the world becomes higher.

People like me enjoy observing these people because it is amusing, nothing more nothing less. If someone refuses to be educated and prefers talking about how much they want to commit suicide, then I'll let them. I'll still laugh at them. I don't have any delusions of grandeur and I don't prefer to see myself as above anyone. I just enjoy laughing at people who refuse to help themselves.

Also for someone who claims to not be a wizard, considering you prefer their company I pity you a great deal.

Well, props to you for having a good vocabulary, I guess. But seriously, Wizardchan is a board that revels in being essentially dysfunctional.

Not long ago, we linked a thread where the OP was discussing how to make himself appear disabled, so he could go on disability and not have to work. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with people offering advice and discussing their own experience with faking and exaggerating disabilities.
