Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

I can't believe you were able to reverse engineer his thought process
Not to be a contrarian, but isn't that a common english expression? It should be fine at least when used in a very informal manner.

I'll give you that the context makes it clear enough and that other than kids or people joking around, no one would say that if they want to be taken seriously.

Maybe I'm missing something or I'm tripping, correct me if I'm wrong.

it's a rather dated expression at this point, it's been decades since i've last heard someone say something "stinks" to mean it's bad

Eh, I think most people say something "sucks" instead of "stinks" nowadays, but that doesn't mean it's that dated. The context part is what's important, IMHO.

That said, as stupid and autistic as Dave is, I suspect he knew what the tipper/chatter meant, and chose to misinterpret it on purpose to avoid having to deal with the insult.

I still can't wrap my mind about what the fuck "outside of an adult mindset." means. The way he tried to describe it, it's someone that wants to express their sexuality that's "not in how a mature adult sees sex." I guess it means "You're not a whore or gay if you're married and/or relationship." However, if you were a single female that was sexually active, you were a "whore." and if you were a man getting his dick wet, you were "gay." Didn't matter if you weren't sexually attractive to men, if you were out breaking that girl's headboard, you were "gay."

This is why I think Phil shifted gears on anything sexual because of Leanna. Or, rather, the roasting he got over acting like he was a virile young man yet not at all recognizing it when his girlfriend wanted a pounding from the pighammer. Young Phil was no more legit perverted than Puritan Phil is legit a grown up about sex. No matter what year it is, Phil always has to find a way to act like he's better than you, and post-Leanna, he discovered that he couldn't pull that off his old way, so he transitioned to being all holier-than-thou about sex.

As for why he continues with the puritan act despite getting roasted for that too, well what else is he going to run to? Certainly not being an admitted incel with a wife. He's stuck now, and besides that, it's better than what happened to his rep after Leanna walked out on him and told everybody he didn't fuck her enough.
When explaining what a popcorn ball is, he called a ball a "three-dimensional sphere." Not that he's wrong
Actually he is. A sphere by definition is 3-D, so he's getting it wrong through being redundant, and I guarantee you that he doesn't know that. It's like when people say "ATM machine", when the word "machine" is already in there, it's what the "M" stands for.

Nothing better than when Phil spouts off and clearly doesn't know that he's exposing his ignorance and stupidity as he does so. Both this and his moments of going "I don't know what Leanna is doing" when even I would've been setting the camera down and taking care of business are great examples. Phil is nothing like what he asserts about himself, and I love that he's not clever enough to hide it.

Modernized is quickly climbing up my personal list of words he uses that make me cringe every time he says it.
It's part of his attempt to retcon his own gaming history, as if YouTube doesn't have a shit ton of hours of him playing video games proving that he's not a modern gamer in the least. "Modern gamer" is often used as a derogatory, but obviously that's not what Phil is trying to imply about himself, that he's the idiotic lowest common denominator used by developers (quite literally, we now know lol) as a benchmark for setting up difficulty. What he means to say is that he's not a crotchety old fart gamer stuck in the past who doesn't recognize that certain traditions weren't actually such great ideas, because asserting this makes him better than others.

Which is hilarious, because the only thing his gameplay EVER shows, no matter what he plays, is that he's both a stubborn fuck AND the derogatory "modern gamer", and would be even if we time-warped back to the mid 1990s. I mean when has he EVER acknowledged a fighting game as being superior in any way to his beloved Super Turbo?

INEDIBLE

This chicken adobo is inedible because the meat is on the bone.

No Phil, it is 100% edible. Inedible things are glass, metal, your turds
Some dead French guy who was known for eating an airplane would like to have a word with you.
