“pecking duck” instead of Peking duck
To be fair a peking duck is always a pecking duck before a Chinaman (derish, most likely if we want to be canonically correct) killed it and then inflated it's body while dripping boiling hot frying oil over its body until it turned crispy.

I don't log in often but I read the main thread daily, not sure if this has been brought up in this thread before or not but I caught on to something he does and it irks the fuck out of me when I hear it. I don't know if its his mic pop filter or his gouty mush mouth or BOWLTH, but when he says words like "want", its like he leaves off the T. All I hear is "wah" or "wahn", ie. "i do whatever the fuck I wahn!" when he's being tough guy Burnellio. I heard it again when describing his Subway slop, he got the "hot honey shriacha" or whatever, but all I hear is "hah honey". He has no problem with his T's when he autistically enunciates it in the middle of words like "quantity" -> "quan-TIT-TEE". Idk, it just finally bothered me enough to log in and bitch about it. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I know exactly what you mean, thing is he used to drop the T (RIP), then a few years ago he started overenunciating it and nowadays he kind of alternates between overenunciating or dropping the T (RIP) so he may say words like pertinent as "per-ee-neh" or he may go full Patrick Tomlinson and say "per-TEE-nen-TUH."

Technically he's not wrong by saying terrestrial radio. That's what fm and am radio is called. He's just using a big words to sound more smarter
He is wrong, the proper usage would be "old-school terrestrial radio".

"Terrestrial old-school radio" doesn't really make sense, but i guess you could stretch it to mean that it maybe referring to protocols that predate what we now know as terrestrial radio (AM and FM), like spark-gap radio or something.

By the way, the frequency of and appearance of new DSP'isms has increased many times fold in the last year or so. It feels like his speech center is suddenly decaying really fast. Not that he was ever eloquent, he's just a motor mouth that parrots a lot and says very little, but now he makes more and more mistakes.

Speech is one of the mental capacities that actually get better with age until you start hitting dementia, that's worrisome for Phil.
