Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

Interestingly recent Neuroscience research has found that 'Multitasking', as it is commonly thought of as the brain performing multiple procedures simultaneously, isn't actually something the brain is capable of doing as many of the exact same neuropathways are used in both tasks. What happens when people think they are multitasking is that the brain is serially refocusing attention between tasks, and this refocusing between tasks is actually hugely detrimental to overall productiveness and the end quality of the activity.
https://www.inc.com/scott-mautz/psy...ow-up-the-myth-of-effective-multitasking.html

The only humans actually capable of Multitasking at all are people who have undergone a corpus callosotomy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Split-brain :geek:

But I also wouldn't refer to cooking, then waddling off to look at the progress bar on an upload and maybe pushing a button before waddling back to the kitchen as juggling tasks. . .or refer to reheating already cooked food as 'cooking'
Completely agreed, I do like this discovery and I think everyone should know this. Sorta important knowledge as everyone does multitasking in his daily life.

However! The term has basically just changed to "Doing multiple things by changing focus really fast, so it appears someone does these multiple things at once", and there is the entire joke Dave presented us. He might just have joked but Dave has no sense for jokes, so I would like to dismiss it. It appears "multitasking" for him is doing 2 separate things on 2 separate times of the day. Stop cooking, waddle up the stairs and look at the screen, then waddle back and continue cooking isn't even close to any definition of "multitasking". It's like saying: "Today I painted the walls, speaking of photosynthesis, lul".

However, it's time for me to go to bed, fellow kiwis.
Tomorrow I have to go to the store and then cook something.
Speaking of multitasking, LUL.

Is "reactionary gameplay" a DSPism? I always hear him saying this every now and then but to this day I don't know what it's supposed to mean

Someone does something in a fighting game and you react to it. So if a nigga mashes out a roundhouse your homeboy reacts and blocks it.

Since DSP fucks up because he’s a busted up old faggot, he can’t “react” quickly enough so he says the gameplay isn’t reactionary. He says the net code is trash and lag fucked him.

Phil, stop using the word 'reactionary'. You don't have the slightest clue what it means and it immediately outs you as a fucking moron every time you do. The only definition the word has ever had is exactly the same meaning as people who describe themselves today as 'progressives' when they call people they don't agree with 'REEgressives'.

The word was invented during the French Revolution as a descriptor for those opposed to revolution. It has always meant those who wish for a return to an earlier social system whether political, economical, social, religious, etc. or a refusal to change with society. It is usually a pejorative term although people who view a social revolution as going to far may describe themselves as 'reactionary' in a positive manner.

It has never meant: 'Duhh, I'm reacting to things,' 'The wind blew and I shivered, I'm so reactionary today,' 'Wow, mom just poured me juice. Come watch my reactionary juice drinking.'

Although, funny enough, when you describe your kahntent as 'my kind of reactionary gameplay' it actually does apply somewhat. For example the way you talk about how your racism used to be acceptable is definitely reactionary. The way you want all the new Street Fighter games to go back to being exactly like Super Turbo 2 is reactionary, while the franchise itself has never been reactionary as it has always progressed with each iteration. The way you refuse to change or grow as a person is reactionary. The way you filmed your videos pointing a camcorder at your TV and refusing to use a capture card was reactionary. The way you refuse to optimize your YouTube videos, by editing them, to increase average watch time on your videos is reactionary. The way you refuse to learn how to optimize your use of titles, tags, and descriptions for search and discovery is reactionary. The way you disabled comments on your videos because the new way they were being used in TIHYDP's made you butthurt is definitely reactionary.

Unless you enjoy sounding like a buffoon and describing yourself as opposed to change and the advancement of society, then by all means keep saying it. Because I know how stupid you are here's a TL;DR clip for you Phail:

Edit: Here, let me help you out Phil, I know how lazy you are. Here's a link to synonyms for the word 'reflex': http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/reflex
they much better describe your gameplay style with words like: unthinking, involuntary, and knee-jerk.

Yes, it's absolutely a DSP'ism, I made a long autistic post about it in the real criticism thread a few months ago.

Two of his biggest and most overused DSPisms lately are INTERACTIVE and CHILL. Interactive to DSP means, “a transaction completed by a viewer,” and chill means, “anything not rage.”
Yes, nowadays he is always promising "interaction" like it's something of intrinsic value for his viewers, only to shut down any and all questions or attempts by chatters/donators to engage him in conversation during streams

The most "diversive" game of the year.
It's so damn "diversive" people say it's like Dark Souls / Bloodborne.

FYI, theyca11medsp is a bot who copies Dave's tweets. And you won't get blocked for stating an opinion :like:

It’s amazing how he has completely substituted the use of full stops with exclamation marks.

Valedictorian with a heart warming speech, doooood!!

I was looking up Kurt Vonnegut's quote referring to the semi-colon by saying "They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing," and came across this advice from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Sheilah Graham, "Cut out all these exclamation points. An exclamation point is like laughing at your own joke."

I'd say DSP's overuse of the exclamation mark to the point of exclusivity is him self-congratulating about how incredibly important his words are.
I think the T-pose is a physical manifestation of his penchant for self-importance, maybe someday his streams as well will become all T-posing all the time.

phil never talks to his fans who dont/didnt cheer, but he constantly looks at chat and notices when a troll is saying some dumb shit, bans and rants.

just thought id point that out, hes clearly reading chat but refuses to make any conversation to fans

Even when he reads a cheer with a question, often he won't even answer it. Like he just red but hasn't understood the content. There was this one cheer lately where someone asked him if he "will play this game unregularly, on some occasions". Back to focusing on stream and saying nothing.

But yeah, he prefers to just react to cheers and tips to feed his wallet*.
But reacts to every single troll to feed his ego.

*) Yes he also reacts to regular messages but just rarely. Mostly when it enables him to rant about other streamers, trolls, how bad the game is or just to point out "That's right paypigs, I do react to non-cheers, right now, seeee?"

I've seen every original DSP-ism I can think of mentioned already, but I think it's equally hilarious how his stream has spawned an exclusive version of English with a lot of words'/phrases' meanings changed, examples including:

"Support" = money
"Interaction" = giving money so he'll say your fake internet name
"Positive" = giving support in monetary form
"Negative" = being critical of Dave
"Taxes" = Subarus and misc. luxury purchases
"Business Loan" = credit card balance
"The Government" = anything to do with taxes he can't immediately make up a story for
