Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

Beach culture. This was during the heatwave the PNW had in June and one of his whales asked if him and Kat were going to go to the water to "beat the heat". Phil being Phil went on a rant of WTF about how he didn't understand why people would go to water to "cool down" instead of staying inside with a cold drink and A/C. I still don't understand what the hell is beach culture. I'm sure he's referring it as someone that loves being outdoors. Ya know, not a shut-in like Phil.

"Fair Enough? (okay then)

People said Phil ruined this phrase, so here it is.

Regular definition:

"You use "fair enough"when you want to say that a statement, decision, or action seems reasonable to a certain extent, but that perhaps there is more to be said or done".
It can also be used to simply agree to a reasonable statement. You don't have to 100% agree, you're simply not inclined to debate it because of the reasonable nature of this statement.

Phil's usage:

Phil uses it in the same way, but he speaks FOR his audience and often continues with "Okay then" to end the begging with a signaling implication that there is nothing more to discuss about this very true fact.

This gaslighting combo makes them believe that there is a general agreement on Phil's statement, which he often treats as a "fact of the matter", the reality, cold hard facts (and he has other methods to gaslight you, like threats, bans and the mature adult way of life). So to finish his combo of victimhood, Phil decides for you that you see Phil's statement as agreeable. Phil says Phil is right and Khet agrees with him (also according to Phil).

Ironically his usage of the phrase makes no sense (shocker!). In a recent example he explained that he needs to pay 2 big bills, they need to get paid till the end of this week, so he needs your money, fair enough?

What is fair enough here?
What is the agreeable statement?
  • That he has 2 "bills"? What are those bills? No, I can't agree to this statement, especially not after he got $900 dollars in a shitty beg-a-ton and the fact he makes a ton of money on a regular basis anyway.
  • That he needs your money and you have the money? Well, yes I guess so, but other than agreeing to that, why am I chosen to pay YOUR bills? "Fair enough" isn't good enough, he's missing a proper explanation. Where exactly is the money going to? What am I investing in?
  • Is it reasonable that he has bills? Yes. Everyone has bills. Is it reasonable that he seems to have gigantic bills on a seemingly weekly basis which also never get solved, no matter how much money get pumped into it? How do I know? I don't know what those bills are. Are they new ones? Old ones? What is it?
Sorry to say, Phil. But that is not fair enough. You never gave a reason to trust your words, in fact you're known to be a notorious liar. Nobody should agree to your statement until proper reason is given. "Uuh Bills, fair enough?" doesn't cut the cake.

RayTracing

Any graphic that looks whoooooaaaahhhh!
This one irks me more than it should it's also worth pointing out Phil isn't the only one to get the meaning of raytracing in game engines completely wrong:

Ray tracing isn't new technology its one of the oldest rendering solutions out there.
In game engines its not even full ray tracing its a hybrid renderer that works with certain types of in game materials (physically based metal and glass shaders are the most obvious) with a fairly low sample count and a denoiser.

If anyone really cares about it heres the UE4 documentation on it.

Not really a misused word, but quite confusing and not helpful in the slightest. There is no reason to say that, except to make himself bigger than he is.

Tuesday is his final consecutive streaming day of the week! Said the alien.

What does this actually mean?
Does he stop streaming for the rest of the week?
No.
It means he streamed 6 days in a row,
his day off is wednesday,
and then he starts streaming "consecutive" again.

He needs this weird flex so nobody can say he's a lazy streamer. Great work, Phil, get your number 1 chocolate medal.

Do you really need this confusing sentence in your streaming schedule?

As someone who has worked two weeks straight and 60-70 hrs/wk here and there in the past, it just shows what a whiney baby he is. How fast did he get fired from his previous jobs that he didn't work at least 5 'consecutive' days at them?

His use of fair enough has always irked me. And just those 2 words speak volumes to DSPs character. If you have to constantly ask your audience/whoever you are talking to "Fair enough?", it just shows that you are trying to benefit as much as possible, while giving the opposite party the minimal amount they will accept. If you're being honest, or just a decent, normal person, you wouldn't need to end every statement asking if its fair enough.

Do you remember a few streams back when some random donated and it was a message about some guy who watches him who has head/brain cancer or whatever, of course Phil didn't know about the intention of that tip and it didn't show up on stream but of course he had the audacity to say to the guy beforehand that he was probably lying and when he finally ended up checking he sounded rather annoyed and said to him "ok I'll give you a solid, just for you". He specifically pins the blame and frustration to people who may/may not give him money, and really couldn't give a shit if one of his best paypigs had a dying parent/sibling or something.

Shows you he lacks any sense of compassion, but it's not like we didn't know that already. I just found his statement to that donator mildly amusing.

"A wasted day off." When you didn't get your YouTube check and you have to sit around the house instead of going grocery shopping.
It's really not misused in this case when you look at the truth of the situation. When you don't get a youtube check and sit around doing nothing but angry tweeting all day.

WRONG, he was watching his wife (thumb) play yuhkoozuh and angry tweeting.

It could be seen as insulting to say the day was wasted when they spent it together like that. Khat used to be a streamer, so I'm certain she is very entertaining to watch. Maybe she could give Dave a run for his money for the title of most mature and positive streamer on the Internet.

Do you think he was watching her from that creeper angle of his about 2-3 feet behind her and just off to the side?

Just watching the TIHYDP Granblue, he pronounces Archipelago as Archa-pell-ar-go. I think this is from trying to sound smart
This one had to be heard to be believed.

As a bonus meme, I included the answer to the question he gets wrong. He thought Japan rests on the Indian Plate. It rests on the Eurasian Plate retard, the hint is in the name.

Close enough, Phil.

Not knowing individual countries in EU, fine. Not knowing the location of fucking big famous countries, in the age of internet, oof.
Does he know how the Himalayans formed? There is this giant mountain chain, due to continental drift. And right south is, you guessed it, India. Resting on the Indian plate. You know where Japan is located? Absolutely not South of the Himalayans.
