I am not happy at all. We should have gotten that penalty shot in the first half. The referare was a moron.
edit. the reason why the swedish trainer went ballistic in the end, was two of the Germans were mocking him and the swedish team.
To give you credit, The Swedish team is fairly representative of current demographics. I was expecting your team to be about 75% Black and Arab "Swedes", much like France.

What a retarded foul at the end there, what in God's name was that defender thinking? Oh, and the kraut fell over on purpose too, though I can't exactly blame him since the defenseman was dumb enough to make contact in such a dangerous place.

Mexshitco can still be eliminated with 6 points on goal difference as long as Sweden beat them, and Germany beat South Korea by 2 goals lolllllll :story: :story: :story: I'd have a boner for weeks and weeks.

Half time, and England are 5-0 up against Panama.

I didn't think England would ever be 5-0 up against anyone at half time. But that was frankly ludicrous. I especially liked John Stones's second goal, which felt like it was a sequence of moves from a free kick they've been practicing for ages and which went off perfectly.

Also glad to see the ref is getting hard on the wrestling moves. Not just Kane being thrown twice against Tunisia, but the two Swiss players suplexing the Serbian striker and so forth.

EDIT: England 6, Panama 1.

I don't think anything more need be said. Belgium next, and that will be the real test for ENGERLUND.

Also, lol at Harry Kane getting into the lead for the Golden Boot by accident.

English team played competently enough. They may actually have a chance of beating Japan or Colombia (lol). I can now definitively say that no falafel will be advancing to knockout stage.

England 6 - 1 Panama

England did kick some ass here - too bad it was an easy-as-fuck team, same with the Kebabs they share a group with (Tunisia). This result was NO surprise in any sense - after all, Panama 2018? Not Costa Rica 2014. Hell, CRC 2018 wishes they were the same competent enough team from 2014. Bottom line: it really sucks the only competent CONCACAF team here is Mexico - but that's what I've come to expect when the US are too busy fearing going to the land of Ivan the Red.

Make like CRC & get outta here, Panama - and take the last of those Kebabs (Tunisia) with you. Please and thank you.

Japan 2 - 2 Senegal

Well, that was one hell of a fun little back-and-forth; even if these 2 get knocked the fuck outta Knockout, I'm satisfied with the better teams here making it out of this Group H. But there's still one game left for all of them, so this could change - even if I hope it doesn't; Columbia 2018 ain't Columbia 2014, which I can see from here, since I expected them to clean up shop (so much for that.).

One more chance Columbia - win or go home TODAY.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well Nigeria and Senegal have played so far. Their defense has been pretty strong, they've become better at exploiting gaps in the opposition's defense, and their teamwork (especially Nigeria) has improved since the last World cups. Maybe in 20 years the Africans could be on the level of a strong European team like France or Denmark. :optimistic: I know.

The way I see it, European (and South American) teams are not going to stop developing so for any African team to catch up to them they'd have to stay steady for a long while and only then start thinking of trying to get to the top. Right now it's still a case of a Golden Generation trying their best but it has to be reflected in their youth system and FA (and really, their government). Certainly possible, but they're not quite there yet. I'd say 20 years is very generous.

But anyway, tomorrow we're going to have four games with the teams in the same group playing simultaneously:
Saudi Arabia-Egypt
Uruguay-Russia

Iran-Portugal
Spain-Morocco

First game in group A won't matter much. They're both out of the running and this game only exists to give Egypt a chance to get some goals in their name. Second game will only determine who gets first place in their group, though if they tie, Russia will get first place (currently standing at 8 GF versus Uruguay's 2 GF).
In group B, Iran still has a chance to get through, but it's going to be very difficult to beat Portugal, who, if Iran and Spain win, could still be knocked out. Portugal is going to fight hard for their place in the R16. Morocco is already out of the running, but Spain still needs to be careful. Looking at the table, any result could get them through but a win will (ofc) be the safest option. Very interested to see how the final table will look like.

Mayber the amount of time I'm giving is generous, but the idea that the Latin American and European teams will constantly improve is a reach. Take for instance the Italians; they were unstoppable in 2006, and since then have either failed to get past group stage, or in clear heresy for the Italians, have failed to qualify for the World Cup in general. The European teams recruit from Africa anyway, and as the continent gets richer, their national teams will undoubtedly get better facilities and managers.

Before I forget...

Columbia 3 - 0 Poland
Truly a huge improvement over their last game, Columbia kicked ass here, IMHO - too bad it might be too late for them, unless they can best Senegal in their last of these 3 games. Thanks for coming, Poland - get home safely. Keep on kicking ass against the EU for the good of the world otherwise, OK? Thank you so much.

The Spain and Portugal matches tomorrow should be worth watching to see some Kebabs get burnt - that's about it there. More than anything, I'm hoping Uruguay can give Russia a real challenge tomorrow - things have been far too easy for them damn Reds so far.

As for Saudi Arabia - Egypt; well, out of national pride, I'd like to see Egypt win. That's all I gotta say about that.

IDK I think there's still hope for Colombia- they can beat Senegal, and the Japanese can probably beat the plumbers. Egypt will probably win, but I probably won't watch it since it will be played at the same time as Uruguay- Russia.

Uruguay vs. Russia is going on at the moment. 2-0, Uruguay leads with 2 goals.
:story:

EDIT: 3-0 at 89th minute. Oh boy.

The match is over, and Russia's back in their usual failtastic prime. Spain/Portugal will destroy them.

Late to the Poland vs Colombia party, but heh, as much as I’m patriotic for Poland I was a bigger fan of Portugal and it seems that at the top of the table they’re doing good. (LOL.)

Speaking of Portugal vs Iran, Ronaldo just got a yellow card, they were even determining a red card for him. If they did the latter, that would certainly be interesting.

I have to say, Spain got very lucky there. I think our commentator said near the end (before their second goal) that if Morocco had scored one more, Iran woul've needed only one more goal to beat Spain in group B.

Tomorrow's games:
Australia-Peru
Denmark-France

Nigeria-Argentina
Iceland-Croatia

If Australia wins and Denmark loses against France, the Aussies can actually get through (as long as Aussies can score at least twice without the Danes scoring). Certainly a very good chance there, it'll be a tense battle from those two. France is through anyway and Peru is out.
Group D along with Group F will be the real battling grounds though, as Nigeria, Iceland and Argentina all have a chance to get to the R16. Croatia is already through so they don't have to worry as much, though I imagine they will want to stay in first place since second place in their group would need to go against first place in Group C (which will probably be France, unless Denmark beats them). They'd probably want to avoid that. Nigeria-Argentina will be a bloodbath and I can't wait for that. I wonder if the team managed to put together a starting XI on their own or if their much hated coach had his (probably) last opportunity to try and salvage their WC run. In any case, I can't even imagine the pressure Messi is under.

Saudi Arabia 2 - 1 Egypt
Thanks to a BS penalty AND some lousy defending later on (2nd Half), Salah and his fellow Kebabs got bested by worst Kebabs here. Truly a shameful exit, indeed. Salah's contribution was frickin' hilariously awesome in the First Half, however. Still, good riddance to both of these fuckers.

Spain 2 - 2 Morocco
Portugal 1 - 1 Iran

I'm sorry, but Spain AND Portugal should have put both these Kebabs away. FACT. Even if BOTH are in Knockouts, as was destined to be, I'm not fancying their chances of getting farther than that if the weakest 2 of their group (both of them being Kebabs - the worst footie players worldwide) could give them so much trouble at all. I especially state THIS about Portugal, who only really have one truly strong player to their name (Christiano Ronaldo) to make things work for them - at least they're not as bad as Argentina. Spain doesn't have this problem, and therefore, no excuses for letting things get that rough, honestly.

Uruguay 3 - 0 Russia
BEST. MATCH. HERE.

Uruguay deserved to win this particular Group, even if advancement beyond it seems unlikely for them. Still, I look forward to a surprise or two from them, especially, ESPECIALLY after seeing them show everyone that Russia had an easy group save for these motherfuckers (URU, by the by.) showing everyone whose truly boss around here. It's clear Russia was set up to look tough with easy-to-beat teams, but thanks to URU, it's clear they will be knocked out of their own tourney soon enough - very befitting, really - I look forward to waving goodbye to Ivan the Red very soon after such a pathetic display!

Dude, you forgot to include the Spain-Morocco match.

MOTM for Argentina-Nigeria was certainly a coked up tranny Maradona.

Aside from that, Argentina barely managed to slip into the R16. There they'll meet France and frankly, I don't have much hope for the Argentines there. But who knows. Croatia will be meeting Denmark, a really good deal for the former.

Tomorrow's games:
Mexico-Sweden
South Korea-Germany

Switzerland-Costa Rica
Serbia-Brazil

A very interesting day tomorrow. As it stands, the possibilities for Group F are endless. Even SK can get through if they manage to beat Germany and Sweden loses to Mexico (and they get enough goals ofc). That said, I don't see Worst Korea winning against a Germany who is there to win and win big. The best thing for Germany would be a Sweden loss since that would quarantee a second place for them. On the other hand though, if Sweden and Germany both win, we'll have three countries sitting at 6 points and there Germany has a chance of getting first place in the group. If Brazil tops their group, that would mean bypassing them in the R16. And that's not even getting into what a tie would mean to each country (aside from SK). Very, very high stakes tomorrow.

Switzerland will probably win against Costa Rica, who are sitting at two losses. The Mountain Jews (feat. a lot of Albanians) have a knack at dramatic wins and Costa Rica hasn't shown much spark. Brazil and Serbia seems clear cut for a Brazilian win, but you never know how their game will go. While Costa Rica is out of the running, the other three all have a shot at getting through, with Switzerland having the easiest path. While I doubt it will happen, if Serbia and Switzerland manage to win, Brazil is out. A tie for Brazil-Serbia would also push the former into second place, which would probably make Germany one group over breathe easier.
