This is very unprofessional and would make me question him working with clients in the way he does. If its real he has enmeshment issues, if not he just wants attention both go against principles of the profession. It may sound harsh and detached, but you can't let a clients death or choices get to to that degree thats why we debrief when clients take their lives and have weekly team meetings.
I'm curious if he monetizes his videos because that would actually be a huge licensure violation.
He makes a point of underlining how his 'treatment' isn't therapy; he's being paid for his time. This isn't bringing a business online, he's just talking for money because he usually streams right before going to work, ie. literally being robbed of income, so he seeks compensation.
You can call it unprofessional but once again, he's in the comfort of his home and privacy, that he just so happens to stream. Who would want an ice cold therapist with no capacity for relatability? Reckful literally made this man's career on Twitch, which enabled him to both start up an initiative to enable others to help people 'on his behalf', on top of just getting a chance to possibly help young people who don't consider them in need of mental help because they're just "lmao super trash kill me Discord ww@" sorts.
Reckful basically pioneered monetization of Twitch as is. The dude is rightfully called the godfather of Twitch for what he has done, and his reward was to be ignored by friends as well as letting people who believe him down by not seeking help himself. Even without joining an emotional circlejerk, it's kind of absurd you'd want some kind of robot to interact with teenagers on a gaming website. If anything, he's very upfront about a lot of things, which results in a lot of humorous contextless clips of him asking people why they're even alive.
Whether or not he's a "legitimate" therapist doesn't really matter, cause he's not exercising therapy. As he stated himself in his memorial stream, he's asking questions and lending a ear, that may or may not be worth more than other people, simply because he's got insight into therapy. To assume he just put his business online and aimed it at kids is idiotic, and he states as much literally every stream.
His roomate wrote this, and basically underlines the issue. He didn't accept help, people didn't offer help, and ultimately he was told to fuck off for not being worth the while:

Speaking of, Alinity spoke with Dr K since her breakdown, and despite the good faith of Twitch now wanting awareness around mental health issues, she instead takes the chance to never address any of her allegations, as well as lying about those already made:
She didn't throw her cat, she "tried to put it on the headrest". She didn't feed it vodka, she "let it lick it off her lips". She didn't make fake rape accusations about Trainwrecks. Period, apparently. So she's already shitting up her one chance to set things straight, but basically just abused the platform. May or may not lead to loss of faith, but ultimately won't change shit.
