We had a lady on our block growing up who handed out Necco wafers. Needless to say her house got the shit egged out of it.

One time I got a religious comic. It wasn't a Chick Tract, just some boring shit about keeping the devil out of Halloween and every day life, so I didn't even get unintentional humor out of it.

As far as candy goes black licorice was always my least favorite. I'd just give it to my mom.

As a fat kid I never had too much of a problem with a lot of candies except for hands fucking down Necco Wafers. Those things are like Satans musky balls in my mouth and I have no idea who the hell actually enjoys them but they should just go away and hide back into their own crazy hotel.

Close second for me are lollipops. Not because they taste bad or anything they are just such a tedious candy to eat. Its like a commitment you aren't ready for in your mouth, but once you realize you didn't want this as much as you thought you did its too late and you're pretty much stuck with it. (granted you could just spit it out but its the principle of it damn it!)

Reese's. I don't particularly hate Reese's but everyone who actually went outside their house at least once in their life knows how easy those fuckers melt and turn sour in heat.
I love black licorice, especially Panda brand, and Reeses are the Holy Grail of trick-or-treat candy. But Smartees on the other hand, or Rockets as the Canucks call em are basically trash. I would throw these out along with dum dums, tootsie rolls of all flavors, red hots, and hard candies by around Christmas time each year.

red hots are pretty damn good though

Bonus if you get them from a local candy shop that actually makes them from scratch.

I'd love to be able to give out home made candies during trick or treating, I've made large batches of candied and sugar coated orange and lemon peels. Perfect fall candies honestly.
