Gonna get but here goes:
I don't care for the more expressive redesigns in the My Little Pony movie. The smaller eyes and pronounced snouts turned them from cute to kinda looking like snotty punks.
One of the most noticeable problems is how you feel like your eyes are damn bleeding when you stare at it for too long. another problem is the weird shapes and eyes. It’s like it’s trying too hard to be different in a bad way. For some reason the blue one look like Sans from Undertale, The pink one looks like the artist was trying to draw it as a horny freak. The problem isn’t adding more “complex” details onto what can be considered blobs with eyes because I’m going to provide another example similar but works for different reasons:
As before, these renditions are more cartoonish and wildly different to the official ones, and the artist seemingly knows how to use colors properly. They lean much more into the “bedsheet” look of the OGs while adding distinct features that fit the ghosts’ characters individually if your autistic enough to know what parts of the franchise the artist pulled from, and it doesn’t make the average viewer cringe in comparison. The only questionable thing is the orange one with it’s tiny moobs but iirc the hard-reboot Ghostly Adventures depiction was a fat dumbass so I digress. iirc the blue one was also “chill” in the reboot but it’s done in a much better way then the eyebleeding Sans ghost. Anyways that’s the end of my MATI spergout.
It shouldn't be too hard to make designs that are simple but easy to differentiate:
Threw together these quick designs in MSPaint to try and simplify Example A, I have only the barest knowledge of Pacman so excuse me if I got anything wrong.

And if this had a logo in the bottom right from some indie slop studio, there'd already be 4chan generals, tumblr posts and subforums created to goon about "Chonko Splongo" or whatever, simply from the fact it's not from a big studio cause contrarians love that shit.
Every single movie after the first dumbs down Toothless' design slightly. He gets slightly blockier, slightly lumpier, slightly grayer, even his pupils get slightly more squarish. In the first movie he was sleek, with a bluish black color and subtle camo markings, now he's a solid gray potato of a dragon.
And that's not even getting into the live action version. That thing looks like a frog with extra chromosomes.
Regarding the animation, consider it the price of dragon gets domesticated. It gets to look more dull the more time it get to spend with a human.
And live action? I don't think I said there before but, you can't simply transfer cartoonish designs into realistic look.

Domestication and body changes happen over generations, not to a single animal, especially not in just 6 years, which is apparently how long Hiccup was with Toothless. I get that he'd be affected, but not to the point that his skull structure changes.
About the live action thing, Toothless' design never struck me as too cartoonish in the animated movie, his face is pretty similar to that of geckos and axolotls. They didn't need to change the proportions, just the textures. I found an edit by a furfag (yeah, I know) that looks quite a bit better:
At least he managed to be the least butchered of all the dragons in the original.
Ratchet & Clank (Future) for the PS3. There were three games with the Future tagline to represent a saga for the franchise.
However, in European countries, they dropped the Future, presumably because of translation issues.
It looks incomplete without the Future in the title. Again, the "future" is supposed to represent another level of storytelling for the franchise. A soft reboot of sorts.
Thanks for reminding me that there was a Rainbow Brite reboot in 2015.
There's so much about that I could sperg about (in particular how it basically character assassinates Rainbow herself) but let's talk about her villains, Murky and Lurky:
Murky kinda looks like an evil Mario... and it sorta fits. These two had an almost Pinky and the Brain dynamic before P&tB was a thing.
Anyway, here's how Murky looks in the 2015 version:
YIKES! This guy looks like a bootleg version of Dr. Cortex from Crash Bandicoot more than anything!
And if you're curious what they did to Lurky...
.... This is just so stupid looking I'm almost convinced it was submitted as a joke and they decided to run with it.
