I remember how shitty it was to be stuck in a waiting room before smart phones or waiting for your food at a restaurant.

No because then I’d have to buy a standalone GPS for the car.

What a zoomer brained thing to ask. Most of the people here remember the before times when smartphones weren't a thing and some even remember the age of the beeper when cellphones were cancer bricks and a luxury.
People would just be distracted by some other dumb shit and I'm honestly thankful for everyone having something to occupy themselves with now instead of wanting to have banal conversations with everyone around them. Don't talk to me about the weather! We're both experiencing it and sayings it's hot/cold/wet isn't some astute observation, fucking mouth breathers.

you never brought a book? that sounds like a skill issue.

Reddit tier behavior brought on by being terminally online and being a quirky "anti social".

It's difficult to call someone else terminally online when most of what you said is Internet memes arranged into passable sentences. To put it in a way you'll understand, when you touch grass and get yeeted into a sus situation like riding any form of public transportation, sometimes you'll encounter degens that want to slide into your personal space. I'd rather people have something to do than to presume I want to talk about their personal lives or some other retarded shit.
My "anti-social behavior" isn't quirky or cute, it's a very real desire to strangle the next half wit that wants to use me as a form of entertainment since they're over-socialized and absolutely have to run their mouths to someone. Literally anyone who's spent an adequate amount of time having conversations forced on them know the type of person I'm referring to.
There's a very big difference between social settings where unsolicited conversation occurs. On a site seeing tour or flying over an interesting landmark? By all means, let's talk since it enhances the experience and you may learn something you don't know.
On a public train at 6AM, bleary eyed and heading to work? Keep your stupid fucking ass in your own lane and let me enjoy my last few moments of freedom before I have to go into business mode for the next 10 hours.

Ah yes, the plight of the poor intellectual who is above the simpletons of the populace who must endure their ramblings l, fighting the temptation of killing them for being "inferior". Truly I weep for you who is slave to public transportation.

Bruv, half the population are literally retarded subhumans. Point is, we should be thankful the stupid have a convenient distraction at hand because otherwise you'd be their distraction, which is obnoxious and intrusive. Don't know what idyllic tiny village you live in where you have the luxury of enjoying talking to everyone around you but the majority of humans live in an environment where over-socialization is a bigger issue than being anti-social.

No retard I've never brought a book into a restaurant because I'm not a cunt.
Suit yourself, if you're so socially insecure that you're scared of being seen as an inconvenience for engaging in light reading while waiting for your meal, than you can always engage in thinking.
You can think, right? You're not one of those simpletons are you?

lines of communication are good. being productive and able to communicate with whom you want when you're out of the house or waiting at the doctor's office is good

government tracking your information use would happen due to a consolidated internet regardless

you're not a hero and enriching your brain for talking to some retarded nigger at the checkout line instead of scrolling on your phone, sorry

reading an ink and print book curated by some jew instead of the kiwifarms when you're on vacation is not "the good old days"

God and his Temple's Constructor says the internet should only be accessed through desktop and laptop computers with 640x480 resolution screens, and cell phones should always be in the flip-phone form factor. Anyone who says otherwise should be killed with an A-10 Thunderbolt cannon.
I prefer 1024x768 resolution at most, but I rather prefer that anyways thank you.

I'm confused as to what your hang up is. If you need to bring a book with you everywhere you're just as starved for constant stimulation as someone who fills those little gaps in the day with a vidya or YouTube.
The only difference as far as I can tell is one gives you the ability to project to everyone that you're a big brained nigga, I guess.
