MMORPG roleplayers in general, while not always lolcows, very often are!

I'll just leave this here (NSFW text)

It's especially bad because he fucking freaks the fuck out over it.

TL;DR guy gets caught engaged cybering in EverQuest II, proceeds to have a meltdown over it.

I vaguely recall the original thread being hilarious but I don't even remember what site it was on.

I'm assuming you're talking about this old gem?

And you know it fucking works damnit. People are always trying to get laid regardless if its their character or themselves.

This is actually pretty common. A gold sink comes out and instead of doing quests or marketplace to sell gold, people will actually offer to have cybersex for gold. And it works. I dont know whats sadder, the people who do it or the people who actually pay for it.
I once joined a newly-formed guild, and the next day I found two of the members in Orgimmar stripping for gold to open a guild bank account. :cryblood:

Goddammit, here comes the powerlevel.

Yes, I was a WoW roleplayer, and for the most part I don't regret it. I met some really awesome people and forged great stories with them, but I wish I had quit when the drama reared its head.

My boyfriend, let's call him B, had just created a new guild with some girl he met online. The girl, I'll name her X, had a history of creating RP guilds and disbanding them at the first whiff of conflict, so B agreed to hold the Guild Master reins while she did the actual work. She wrote the website and the lore and led the guild meetings, and although I rarely saw her in action, she seemed really good at it.

I was new to the server at the time and had a lot of trouble involving myself in the RP scene, so B took me in as his personal slave servant girl. This would have been all fine and dandy, but some joke he wrote in my member note - something in the lines of "B's sex slave, hands off" - rubbed X the wrong way. She whispered me the next day to ask who I was, then ran to B, crying how her character was supposed to be his sexy girlfriend and some other stuff B had not agreed to. From there on she tried her best to ignore me (while complaining to B about everything I did) but my mere presence bothered her so much that she would log off whenever I was on. I remember wanting to talk things through with her, but B and I could never get her to sit still for five seconds.

The conflict came to a head when X asked B to hand her the GM rights. He asked her why, as it was his job to protect the guild from her whims, to which X replied "just do it", then "nevermind" and logged off again. She quit the guild some time later, and we thought we had seen the last of her.

Weeks, perhaps months later X made her return with a sob story about how we had stolen the guild from her, and allied herself with another annoying player who was already hassling us. They had a group discussion with B and a neutral mediator, who concluded that everyone was stupid and the matter was finally laid to rest.

However, this event is still part of X's character's story, in which I am the seductress who weaseled her way into the leader's graces. :tomgirl:

My god it sounds even more retarded now.

My best friend got married to a girl he met a WOW. Thats not to uncommon but whats LOL worthy is that along with his IRL wedding he had a WOW wedding to which he forced all his none WOW buddies to come along to.
We had to actually create characters and level them up to attend this wedding then roleplay the whole way through.
Possible the worst part of the whole thing was he missed his IRL stag night to attend his WOW stagnight. So rather than attending a strip club and drinking till he passed out with his friends he went on a raid with his guild......we still had the stag night anyway.

The saddest thing is that she may have a point.
Even though she may have a point in getting laid and having some epic bird mount, it still doesn't excuse the fact that she tried to get laid just to get some virtual bird. Plus, as much as how one would gloat getting laid, whose to say it was awesome? For all we know, while she may of gotten laid, the sex may of not really been all that fulfilling or great. Even then, said sex could actually just be nothing more than just in-game chat typing rather than actual sex.

Yes.

That's why it's sad.

I went to Argent Dawn EU once or twice. It was as bad as they say. And yes, "those" things are happening in Goldshire.
The second time (created a female human mage) I got stalked by some random naked nelf the whole time.
I think I take the RPing in LotRO over this anytime (even if I haven't played that game in like, five years or so)

AD fags are also notrious for shitting up the general forum on the EU battle.net with inane shit only they care about.

Oh man yeah, i couldnt believe it as well at first, so i went there as well a few years ago.
Have been wondering if AD's still that active, since WoW lost lots of players though...
gotta revisit it again someday.

I've played WoW on and off since it started. I've been on all kinds of servers, but I like the RP servers. They tend to be a bit more chill, while some of the other servers take all the fun out of the game because the players are obsessively metagaming everything. I play WoW for fun, as a game. If I have to invest the same amount of time and effort into the metagame as I would an actual job, it defeats the purpose for me. But, there's still plenty of RP people who want to have fun, and I don't mind the RPing itself... most of the time.

However, I've seen some weird weird shit on those servers. I once walked in on an all gay druids-only RP in Ashenvale. Bears on cats, moonkins on elves... it was chaos.

Most of the time AD is marked as full with queues, unless you go there at 3am on a workday or whatever.

The first time I went into World of Warcraft was like this.

I approached a jumping gnome character. Said to him "Gnomes are too stereotyped." He says "o rly?"

I say "Good luck winning a heiht comp" and run off. He shouts back "Good luck spelling!"
