Infected Wrong Planet

I guess it's like stacking except that they see a bigger and bigger number rather than a bigger and bigger pile of mismatched blocks. Or alternatively, they just don't like to write things longer than a sentence when it doesn't deal with an obsession or if they have an axe to grind and numbers are super short to write.

Active discussion lists are a forum staple, displaying the most recently posted in threads. A difference between Wrong Planet and other forums I've witnessed is their members absolutely LOVE counting and you will see this list filled with at least 2 counting threads at any time. This cap is a more common occurrence than you would think.

How the fuck are they supposed to count from 0 to 1000 using threes.

For a group so obsessed with counting you'd think they'd know how base 10 works.

I distinctly remember in second grade my teacher would have the entire class occasionally count from zero to 100 using even or odd numbers so we could get used to using larger numbers before actually using them in math. I guess, like my teacher, they don't care you won't actually hit 1,000 proper so long as they reach it.

If it was anywhere else I'd say you were right, but Wrong Planet really confuses me on how things work. Why do some people have 20,000 posts, what do they think they are Catparty? Why do they count in threads all the time? Why does everyone post new threads on the same topic like every day and get 5 replies instead of just contributing to preexisting threads?

There are no post ratings and nothing happens once you hit a certain quota but I'll be damned if I can figure out a better reason.

Also, have some content! This is a fun thread about triggers and discriminations with special appearances by my best friend* fnord
