I'm a bit tired to be posting so i'll just make it quick
Something about older generations always mad at newer ones
It's indeed worth noting that change is just that: Change. Whenever older people percieve it as good or bad does not matter, the fact is newer generations are usually different and that's all.
Yet, every generation shapes the future and so it is understandable for older generations to be worried the upcoming ones will destroy everything they have built and looking at examples like Bella, that fear is totally understandable.
the internet just gives them a platform.
What is a platform?
It's a place filled with like-minded people where they talk with each-other and discuss various topics. Usually a
community forms thanks to like-minded people meeting up in a platform.
The Anime community, the Furry community, the Chan "community", there's many old and new communities on the internet. Now, what happens when someone joins a community they are interested in and or want to be part of?
They try to fit-in with the others, that involves adopting practices of said community, following rules, etc; This is normal human behavior.
The problem starts when you take into account that communities these days are composed of hundreads of individuals that can freely and easily communicate with each other publicly or privately at any time.
Add to this the ability to get information about any topic in a matter of seconds, the amount of fake information and paranoia about "fake news" floating around, the constant fabrication of propaganda and anti propaganda by opposing communities and the glorification of famous people as the "endgoal" every individual should strive for and you got yourself a nice broth to feed an insecure teenager.
This is all obviously disastrous for someone's mental health and all this retardness we see on the internet is a direct repercusion of that.
So, let's go back to this point so you old farts know why i ever typed it begin with:
Yet, every generation shapes the future and so it is understandable for older generations to be worried the upcoming ones will destroy everything they have built and looking at examples like Bella, that fear is totally understandable.
What older generations should fear is not that the upcoming ones might destroy everything they built (new generations will always change what older generations built) what older generations should fear is the possibility of newer generations being unable to strive past their current problems in a satisfactory manner. What does that means? Older generations should fear newer generations becoming brutally retarded because they were unable to learn from their mistakes.
There's always a few individuals or groups of individuals that fail to rise past their generations hardships and end up becoming really fucked up but usually those are not the majority. Even if a whole generation performs poorly growing up, the world will keep on spinning, but well...
It's easy to understand things will take unexpected turns.
The weirder a generation is, the weirder the world will become.
