Twitter is broken for a lot of people right now, it turns out that Elon in his infinite wisdom is limiting most of the userbase to only being able to view 600 Tweets a day

Which is probably about 10 minutes of scrolling through the "For You" tab.
The verified accounts are allowed 6000 Tweets so it just seems like he's intent on fucking with the non paying portion of the users until they give him money.

600 may sound like a lot but that number is reached surprisingly fast, especially if this includes promoted tweets which it probably does.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an 'action plan' developed following the apotheosis of Saint Floyd in case another major riot breaks out. Shutting off or limiting internet access is a common tool used by authoritarian countries when their subjects are trying to revolt. Effectively turning off twitter for most users is _very_ convenient for France at the moment, and it also will cause a lot of internet junkies to subscribe to twitter.

I think replies are counted in this, because I'm throttled on a not-old account and I definitely haven't looked at 300 tweets today. Maaaaaybe 50 actual top-level tweets max.

Also, Musk is fucking over the people who he's trying to lure to start video streaming programs with this gambit. It's a very weird decision. People like Matt Walsh who have moved their whole shows to twitter are going to be very upset at Musk for this.

Replies are counted in it, including the ones that load on the screen that you don’t see without scrolling, or clicking on one. A users own tweets that they’ve posted on their profile are counted.

Quote subtweets also count as posts.

Twitter was quite a useful tool for info gathering in terms of lolcows, for me at least. Pretty useless if you can't archive the tweets to authenticate their authenticity though.
