Easiest Seriously would have to be Gears 2. All you need is 100k kills. Any game mode would do.

After Gears 4, 5, going back to the original trilogy feels like a breath of fresh air.

No! None of my languages/keyboard layouts are either, no japanese language packs installed, not even the timezone is remotely asian. This affects more people than me and for years no one have found a solution or figured out what causes it.

edit: MS support(MSDN or whatever it is called now) is nothing but pajeets grinding experience and pasting links to a decades old WinServer 2003 patch or some shit and marking it as solved.

I wish I knew, it's probably a funny story. But achievements were like the wild west those first couple years after the 360 launched, nobody knew what to do with them, no expectations. So you had shit like the Avatar game letting you nab 1000 points in the tutorial for getting a 50-hit combo, juxtaposed to Quake 4 requiring you to reach #1 on the ranked leaderboards for one. I wouldn't be surprised if Seriously just started as a joke, but players liked the concept enough that the devs kept it as a running gag.

Complete a game on the highest difficulty, yes. Complete a mission in a time limit? Sure. Asking the player to reach the top of an online leaderboard? You're nuts. And asking the player to accumulate 100k or so kills, matches, etc isn't an "achievement," it's a grind.

Back to Game Pass, MS is discontinuing Xbox Live Gold in favor of Xbox Game Pass Core. Remember MS's proposal for 24 hour check in with digital games? This seems to be that same philosophy.

did you change the region for non-unicode programs (look up how to get there, it's buried in the administrative region setting in the old control panel)? some nip games require that to run, and changing it usually doesn't affect anything else, so people set it and forget about it.

option two would be to create a new clean windows profile, then see what happens there. make sure there are no other language packs installed - windows is fucky and sometimes just removes them from the profile, not pc. otherwise add it, and make sure the english one is the top one. I suspect windows just removes the pack, but when it was the first, it doesn't change the default, so still set to non-us, but now you can't change the order anymore since there is only one item in the list.

region settings are ass in general, you might have to relog or restart completely to have some options appear after changing it (I managed to uninstall all language packs once, including the default english one, then couldn't install a new one till hard rebooting).

I have never installed a game in japanese game or application that needed that, but I know the process that you are talking about. The only thing I've run that is in japanese is via SNES and PSX emulators.

The only(as in singular) language pack I have is the one that makes the Windows UI english and it's from the initial (fresh) install. That and two keyboard layouts(US layout and euro layout). The reason for that is that I have an ANSI keyboard and not ISO, ANSI is missing a physical key and it is an important key.

Regions and languages are in order.

I have only found one person that managed to solve this exact problem. The solution was "idk, after a couple of months there was a windows update and the problem solved itself", this was three years ago.

Gamepass worked as it should for months and then it just turned Japanese. Or... 20% japanese at this moment, it's gotten better with time, settings and game descriptions are now in english but all in-app popups and announcements are still in japanese and I have no idea if those are saying that a game is getting removed, has been removed or if it has new content or needs an update.

Funny how they pulled the plug for all of the original iterations of the halo games but gears of war still has all of its servers up for every game.

They really did only hire people who hated their flagship franchise. Why doesn’t MS give 343i the good ol EA treatment again?

It's actually the opposite. If doing it is easy, it shouldn't be an achievement. It's all of these achievements that are given away for just playing the game that aren't actually achievements.

Never forget, it's just a fucking number. You could just not do it if it's too hard or annoying.

I've heard of this, but couldn't find any source beyond a couple YouTube videos. Evidently, it has something to do with a GTA V exploit.

If this gets enough traction or affected user base, MAYBE MS would tackle this glitch.

it's the typical microsoft shit, like the holotours app that decides to switch languages based on your region or input language, not DISPLAY language. because people obviously keep their windows in english when they want to hear and see NON-english. also starts affecting gamedevs, control had some background ambience localized depending on that too (but not everything else for some reason). they fixed it in a patch, but it's still retarded. bonus points if there is no way to change the language at all, not even with launch options, because why the fuck would you ever want to change languages, right?

as for the gamepass-app, one other weird effect can be your IP, depending how it's set up. if it just pulls shit from a server, and the server sets display language by IP, this might be one cause (ubisoft likes to do that too where you set the app to english, but then the store goes by IP since it's just a website inside the app).

because it's not about the achievement but the analytics.
and I rather deal with those than dead multiplayer or other stupid shit for the sake of "achievement". I finished your fucking game on the hardest difficulty, what the fuck else you want?
