Xbox Game Studios Stupidity Hate Thread Game Pass Edition

Microsoft has banned all third party controllers that aren't under the 'desgined for xbox' label.
lol wtf is wrong with these companies? Between this and the "no third party blu-rays" from Sony, it's like they've gone completely fucking mad.

"yea let's LIMIT the choices our customers have regarding how they play and/or use the console(s) they paid for. Surely nothing bad will happen!"

They are obsessed with forcing you into a closed ecosystem that only they control, to force you to have to go to them to stay in it.

That was before the acquisition. Now, how MS responds to this remains to be seen.

This may affect converters for fighting stics. I'm not sure if external keyboards will be affected by this.

Any desire to jump into this console generation just isn't present. No games, 'games as service', 70 EUR games with DLC and microtransactions, nothing new that we haven't seen before, and 'you don't own this device' bullshit.
I miss the X360 days...

In an interview that he gave at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit that was held on November 28, Stuart described a vision of offering xCloud in regions like Africa, India, and Southeast Asia in exchange for ad views. "[In these] places that aren't console-first, you can say, 'hey, do you want to watch 30 seconds of an ad and then get two hours of game streaming?'" Stuart explained, according to a transcript provided by Tweaktown. Many countries in the regions the executive mentioned have no official support for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, therefore they also have no official support for Xbox's cloud gaming service.
Stuart went on to say that half of Africa's population are people who are younger than 24, have mobile devices, but have very limited high-end disposable income. "So we can go in with our own business models and say... there's millions and millions of gamers we would never have been able to address there, and now we can go in with our business models," he claimed. Xbox Game Pass reached 25 million subscribers in January 2022. Microsoft has not released new data since then, which implies that either subscription numbers have slowed down or that they dropped. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, an influx of new users from previously untapped regions would be beneficial for Xbox.

It's good to remind that "games man" was already head of Xbox for 7 months by the game's release.
I liked Sunset Overdrive. I hate how it's in limbo now between Insomniac, MS and Sony. MS owns the publishing rights; Insomniac owns the IP. Perhaps if Sunset Overdrive had more marketing and released a year later, it COULD'VE been a great mascot for the Xbox brand regarding creativity, expression and interactivity in a video game environment.

Reminds me, I should play it again.
