Xbox Game Studios Stupidity Hate Thread Game Pass Edition

The fact this Xbox branded slideshow announced on 2020 got a showcase yesterday with no release date yet is incredible:

The fact we went from Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break to Life is Strange: Trans Edition and this is just fantastic.

Fable 2 is actually a really, really underrated game, it’s a shame how underutilized the series has been since.
It's a shame it never got a PC port, that was the closest the series got to ever capitalizing on its weird vision of RPG/Feudal life Sim.

Fable 4 I expect to be yet another open world RPG, with probably none of the charm the originals had. Like all Microsoft games it seems to be in development hell. Seriously what is even the point of owning an Xbox at this point? Halo was such a fucking flop it hurt.

Minecraft announced that on the next update they will give away Bedrock to all Java owners:
This comes right around when they decide to double down on the marketplace crap:
The ground is already being prepared, the shitshow when the controversial decision to pull Java's plug finally happens in a few years will be inevitable:

The real shitshow has begun, from this point onwards your remaining mojang accounts will be forced towards microsoft. You will become one with microsoft.
You'll all become one with microsoft

Literally the most pleasant surprise was the return of the collaborations with Koei Tecmo:
Also Obsidian working on a fourth different game while the Elder Scrolls killer Avowed is in development hell like everything else:
Worst bit was probably showing Kojimbo face with nothing else just to stick against Sony.
Another average (not) E3 showing average games that will get averagely delayed.
Edit:

Shouldn't have expected anything different from "games" man, the collaboration was deep as a puddle, at least I can say he is trying by importing nippon goods on Game Pass like the Persona games.

Its not actually an MGS game but I am glad that Lightyear Frontier (formerly known as Farmech) got a spot in the presentation and I hope it does well. I've been quietly following the game's development for about a year now. Its from a small studio that spun up with Embracer money.

There's more outages now with MS than before. Game Pass cannot work with those outages.

MS for as many devs they now own really don't publish games that interest me, nothing wrong with that but lot of their games are starting to look samey from a outside watcher

Redfall having pre-beta on the trailer doesn't give me any confidence, unless the company entire existence depends on it, like Overkill with Payday and Ghost Ship with DRG, these L4D-likes usually die pretty quick, we are likely to expect another Bleeding Edge.

Game Pass, backwards compatibility, unofficial emulator support. I believe it has more value than a PS5.
Even all of that is undermined by the fact that everything worthwhile to play on the damn thing is also playable on PC. Seriously, the only thing the Xbox/Bethesda showcase did was remind me why I don't own an Xbox but a gaming PC instead, because literally everything shown, including the Microsoft published titles, are coming to Steam, while Game Pass is also available on PC itself. The Xbox is completely unnecessary at this point.

Sony seems to be moving in the same direction, there's only like two or three titles that have yet to be announced to be coming for PC. But the PS5 does have a larger install base so there's that. And if you don't have a gaming PC its library is bigger than Xbox. Sony surprisingly has spent way more resources to bring games over from PC to console, and it's only recently that it seems Xbox is catching up by acquiring Blizzard and Bethesda.

Sony has AAA games that are objectively beloved. That's their advantage over Xbox.

I mean a PC is the superior choice, you're not wrong.

The Playstation PC publisher used to be Playstation Mobile, Sony just recently unveils massive mobile game plans to target IOS, Android and PC.

I don't think their PC strategy is finished since they want like a dozen MTX games and those seem to be the ones that will be popping up on PC for the majority. Those are going to probably change the direction of their PC strategy depending on how many have success or fail.

This was shortly after they ported their first titles there. So it's going to be interesting to see how much their mobile multiplayer games take off. I mean if they can nail it, they might have decades of income just from there considering how long multiplayer games can last.

Xbox will be phasing out Xbox 360 titles from Games with Gold beginning in October.

This is not surprising since they phased out adding BC titles some time ago.
