Xbox Game Studios Stupidity Hate Thread Game Pass Edition

Cod shit the bed hard this year, between that and negotiations the brand will be dead by the time its exclusive to gamepass. literally those stupid fucks over at microsoft will keep releasing COD for playstation until 2033, thats insane. If Gamepass shuts down in 2027 then they straight up brought a company and never got around to putting its flagship game on their product. Phil should have grown some balls, told Sony to get fucked.
It is (not) happening:
As for the alleged decision to keep Call of Duty away from Xbox Game Pass, Timdog said the rumored move was part of Microsoft's reaction to realizing that its subscription service, in its current form, is not sustainable. According to recent analyst estimates, Xbox Game Pass hit 33.3 million subscribers by December 2023, six and a half years following its debut. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer was recently quoted as saying that the subscription service is profitable, but requires $1 billion in annual content investments.

343i has practically killed Halo by leaning into the live service model without much support.
343 killed Halo way before that.
Halo died when they put people in charge who explicitly told us they didn't want to do Halo, didn't understand what Halo was, and gave us a game that didn't look like Halo or played like Halo. Didn't help that they ruined the old lore, and now the humans are no longer forerunner, there's an even older alien race called the precursors, and the writers keep rebooting the story with every installment which means you're now a decade into 343 lore and you have no villain

The reports this week that they plan on taking Starfield and future releases to the PS5 plus things like Hi-Fi Rush to the Switch
These aren't new reports, they're fanboy fantasy rehashings. Anyone with half a fucking brain knew that big, once 3rd-party games, like Starfield and TES (among others) wouldn't remain exclusive.

You don't spend $70 billion dollars and make that money back by strangling those IPs for the sake of 25 million console owners. Any thought to the contrary is fucking retarded.

Oh man, if the Xbox bails out and its just Sony and Nintendo Console (and lets face it, Sony is gonna fuck over people if they are the the only big boy console) then I hope Valve takes another shot at a Steam console.
PC is the Steam console.
This is still just he said she said. I mean, its happening, but we've known that for a week or two now, this is less proof than the leaked Switch and PS5 costumes in HFR.
I don't think the Microshills at Xbox Era would lie about this short of thing and Microshit would let their remaining fanbase sell their Series X over this without saying this.

Sony hasn't released an exclusive since Bloodborne AFAIK because of PC gaming. MS is leaning into Game Pass by buying exclusives for their platform. Now, there's only timed exclusives through DLC.
Game Pass is 100% making less money than Sony's PC ports. Besides that, Xbox releases games on Game Pass day one because their exclusives have had a history of flopping. Sony releases games on Steam after they've made all their millions selling the games as exclusives.

You don't spend $70 billion dollars and make that money back by strangling those IPs for the sake of 25 million console owners. Any thought to the contrary is fucking retarded.
Why are there only 25 million console owners? Why are they not sticking to Game Pass? Could it be that Microsoft's Starflop didn't move the needle for Game Pass even slightly despite the "updates" the game has received? The only reason they're in this situation is because of their incompetence.

Microsoft bought these IP's in the hopes that they could compete with Nintendo. They thought those franchises would attract people to the Xbox platform. Don't act like Microsoft has reached this point deliberately. They are here because they failed miserably.

Xbox never recovered after the Xbox One failure.
The brand has been on life support since Xbox One. Tons of Xbox fans were screaming that these publisher and studio acquisitions would be for the long term growth and health of Xbox. It was the exact opposite. It was for the sole benefit of Gamepass and for the death of Xbox. Microsoft wants the Xbox brand dead and they want names like 'Gamepass' to be the future.

Like how HBO is now a dead company with no more HBO Max and is being swallowed whole by Warner Brothers and Discovery Channel. Gamepass and Microsoft Gaming are doing away with Xbox. And now HBO has lots of its shows being given to other networks (with zero royalties for writers or actors). Which is how Gamepass works in that only Microsoft gets a cut and the developers just get a flat fee.

Where were you when Xbox died?
I was laughing all the way to Steam.
:story:
what are the bets on the confirmed game list?
https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/starfield-is-reportedly-coming-to-ps5-along-with-other-xbox-exclusives/ Just Starfield & high-five rush & Indiana Jones or
not confirmed in speculation-

I think the guaranteed releases on PlayStation will be Starflop, Hellblade 2, and the Obsidian slop (Pentinent, Grounded). Hi-Fi Rush has practically been confirmed at this point.

I'm not sure if Microsoft knows what their strategy is. I think they'll switch between publisher and console manufacturer for a while. As a result most of their new first-party games won't be seen on PS on day one because Xbox doesn't want to commit just yet. Eventually they'll turn into publishers because they're too incompetent to be in the console business.

I'm going to laugh if Starfield hate starts to go away after a PS5 release lmao

I remember saying there was no way that Activision games would be exclusive because it would destroy the whole point of the buy out, but holy shit I didn't think they'd go all in on third party so quick

People still find a way to hate on Skyrim so idk about that.
Those are the people that will continue to hate Starfield. They're your diehard Bethesda haters.

There's a much larger set of people hating on Starfield that I see on twitter, facebook and other social media, and it's just clear as day they've not played the game and are just parroting, and when you take a look into them they end up being Sony fanboys most of the time.

Now if they continue to hate on it, great. But I'd find it a lot funnier if they stopped. Even more funny than the people who are goin to say it's been "fixed" or "wasn't *that* bad" in 3 to 5 years.

Microsoft thought they could open up their wallet and buy their way to a victory. Instead of taking that money and investing in something organic and improving their own studios output. They were chasing after Skyrim and got Starfield. Scooped up Call of duty just in time for it to be eclipsed by fortnite.

At that point, they'll just leave the industry entirely, which is what the trial leaks intimated. Microsoft has one more console in them. If it doesn't pan out, they cut their losses and role out.
