XenForo 2

Filtering by ratings is a terrible idea. I thought the whole concept of ratings is that they do nothing and it's extra funny when people get mad about them. Adding actual functionality to them and fragmenting threads into only the highest-rated posts would cause a lot of good or entertaining posts to get overlooked. I know that can already happen with several-hundred page threads now, but it probably wouldn't be a solution. Plus it would mean we'd miss out on users making an idiot out of themselves and getting negrated in response. I mean shit, we already know how it works out on reddit.

I still think threads should be split up somehow into a genuinely informative section and just a general chat section, somehow. I mean, that's half-way how it works on 2ch with "sage", posters would use it to be polite and not bump a thread if they felt their post didn't add anything to the thread. What if we could mark our own posts as "informative" or not. Maybe have mods/users change that too, maybe enough informative ratings would mark the post informative? I know it contradicts what I just said, but I doubt anyone would care about not getting informative ratings.

I think the current system works just fine. Don't fix something that isn't broken.
With a good updated OP users get all the info they need to jump into a cow they are interested and then can read the rest at their leisure. You don't need to burn through an entire thread in a few days to post about a cow, you just need to understand the most essential stuff which is what the OP is for.

No one is going to read a two thousand page thread on Wu without a highlight mode.

Ratings are mostly where I want them for launch.

Going to relax over the weekend and then try to start a featured thread system before the 23rd. On the 23rd if it's not where I want it I'm going to shelve it. The 23rd I will set up a beta site and test the migration privately.

Null, will this update that you're planning on doing have any impact on the old issue of having to log in multiple times in order to stay logged in?

To help complement an auto-generated highlight mode, maybe later adding the ability for a thread owner or mod to manually add posts or ranges of posts to the highlight could help. I like the idea of the highlight but agree with @The Fool that it could end up turning ratings into a reddit-like popularity vote.

Will XenForo2 fix the problem of staying logged in on Opera? Because I kept getting signed off everytime I try to refresh.

Did you guys check the box that says "stay logged in" or "remember me"?

Feature request: Each post should be searched for the regular expression "/dox+ed/". When it appears, a counter is incremented and the match is replaced with the word written with that many Xs. For example, the first time it's posted, it will be rewritten as "doxed," then "doxxed," then "doxxxed," and so on. This counter should be stored as a 64-bit unsigned integer.
