The thing about this is, back when the Bible was written? There was a NEED for humanity to multiply; there were not as many humans and the species needed to flourish. And sexual intercourse is an action that takes energy that needed to be rationed properly so they could do the hard labor needed in order to survive. If you were going to be spending energy having sex, you damn well better have been working to solve the population problem while you're at it.

Homosexuality was outlawed not because it was unholy, but because it was counter-productive.

Populating the earth is the least of our worries nowadays (on the contrary, the issue now is overpopulation).

(This is what my pastors taught me in high school youth group.)
 
Also, just because the first two people God created were straight doesn't automatically mean God hates gays; they just hadn't been created yet.

I actually brought that up to her in my last comment, that I doubted God would put two men or two women together and then go "SO YEAH GO MAKE BABIES AND SHIT KTHXBAI" before farting off to... I dunno, play vidya or invent the platypus. And on top of that (and shit I wish I'd thought of this earlier) when Christianity started THEY NEEDED MORE CHRISTIANS. Ergo, get married and start sexing.

So, does the Lord hate six or seven things? I mean yes, 7 things are listed here, but why say the Lord hated six things at first, and then change it to seven in the next sentence? Although a lying tongue and a false witness that speaks lies could be technically the same thing, bringing the things he hates from seven down to six.

I hate that phrase. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it because it is so redundant as to be a tautology (how could anyone find a baby guilty of some deliberate offense?) -- but it also contradicts the theology of several branches of Christianity (including Catholicism IIRC) that say that we're all born in a condition of sin, and until we're baptized, or take first communion, or whatever, there are in fact sort of "guilty babies." I think the Vatican revised its official statement on this, but unbaptized babies who died, in Catholic doctrine, used to go to Limbo rather than heaven. My mother was taught to pray for the souls of unbaptized babies so they could get into Heaven -- and for the souls of "heathen" babies in other countries that hadn't had the foresight to become Catholic yet.

I mean, it's like she's never heard of the whole doctrine of original sin. There's an American politician out there right now insisting that 15-week male fetuses mass debate in the womb, so I suppose if you follow his logic, there are in fact guilty fetuses as well.

It's baptism, because back in the day (any maybe still today?) there were people who made sure they were never baptized until they were on their death bed. Because baptism was (is?) one giant Get Out of Sin Free card it meant that you could do whatever you wanted and avoid church and forgiveness and all that stuff so long as you were baptized before you died.

It's also relevant to note that some Mormons have baptized people after they've died so they can get into heaven. You might recall that more then a few people were pissed off that Anne Frank was someone they baptized.

Some LGBTs broke up the fight, but overall, these people are not of love or tolerance. Equality does not viciously pummel people for disagreeing. Even still, saints, we have to keep preaching the Word. Persecution IS HERE, but we have to keep our heads up and witness the Word through and through! If you have been flamed here at Deviantart for disagreeing with homosexuality, consider it a blessing. Let the Lord strengthen you through tribulation. If those brave saints can endure a beating from the angry mob of homosexuals, then surely we can take a few bad words. We have to keep preaching no matter what.
