The thing about this is, back when the Bible was written? There was a NEED for humanity to multiply; there were not as many humans and the species needed to flourish. And sexual intercourse is an action that takes energy that needed to be rationed properly so they could do the hard labor needed in order to survive. Homosexuality was outlawed not because it was unholy, but because it was counter-productive.
Populating the earth is the least of our worries nowadays (on the contrary, the issue now is overpopulation).
