Liz Fong-Jones is a long-time fan of XKCD, and he has also claimed (one more than one occasion) to be a personal friend of Randall Munroe.
Earlier this year, a Twitter troon posted about knowing (and even temporarily living with) Liz Fong-Jones in the past. He also mentioned some very interesting things about Randall Munroe...

Some of this (like Liz being active in the xkcd IRC and previously living in Somerville, MA with his polycule) was already known in Liz's thread, which lends some credence to this person's claims. The bit about Randall Munroe and/or his alleged "trans sister" hanging out with & possibly even living with Liz Fong-Jones is some very juicy gossip though!

tl;dr Liz Fong-Jones moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Somerville, MA (right outside of Boston) around 2009, and he partially attributed this move to being a big fan of the Boston xkcd meet-ups/conventions. (I believe Liz remained there until ~2020, when he moved to Canada.) Interestingly, Liz's Somerville house just-so-happened to be within walking distance of one of Randall Munroe's previous home addresses.

Fun fact: Liz called his Somerville house "the Hive of Scum and Villainy". It was a le quirky Star Wars reference, but he also named it that because he was living there with his trans polycule and was literally hosting FetLife bdsm/"hypnokink" events at the house. Really makes me wonder if Randall Munroe and/or his troon sibling were ever involved in this stuff. 🤔

Unfortunately, I don't have any hard evidence, and I'm also not good at sleuthing.
It's probably very unlikely that Randall has ever publicly talked about living or partying with a gross trans polycule... but maybe Randall's alleged "trans sister" has? 🤔

I did a little searching and found that Randall is the eldest of three children. According to this old article from 2009, he has two younger brothers: Douglas "Doug" Munroe and Richard "Ricky" Munroe. If the rumor is true, then one of them should be a troon now.

Something I noticed just recently: for years, the Wikipedia article for Randall Munroe previously mentioned his "two younger brothers", but it was eventually changed to "two younger siblings".

The editor is pseudo-anonymous and doesn't provide a source, but this edit has remained in the article ever since then. I think this counts as evidence that Randall Munroe really does have a "trans sister", which lends a little more credence to the claims I posted about earlier.

2010 lines up nicely with Liz Fong-Jones & his polycule moving to the Somerville/Boston area. I suspect one of Randall's brothers also trooned out around the same time. I'm very curious if Liz had any direct involvement in this. I also want to know just how close the relationship was between Liz and Randall. :popcorn:

I've never seen him politically vague-post like this, he usually really struggles with subtlety except when referencing pop culture.

the media is desperate for stories like this so they can gas up the retards for more site traffic, but libs in general are absolute piss pigs when it comes to oppression narratives. the same thing happened when that guy got deported to El Salvador for his gang connections. all the twitter libs were screeching on their assorted podcasts that Trump's government has finally reached the point where it's illegally deporting US citizens just to take out brown people at random to scare the rest into submission, despite the fact that his deportation originated under Biden and he wasn't a US citizen, lol. these people all secretly imagine themselves to be downtrodden underdogs in a 1984-style dystopia, who need to believe that an evil force is set against their very existence so every action they take, even posting online or consooming, can be redefined as virtuous resistance.

It's not just that, the comic criticizes nerdy men online being weird about women while ironically exposing the exact same underlying attitude.

Besides the comic being a lame janny fantasy about being the butt-kicking internet police, he has an obvious self-insert male character rush to whiteknight the woman, with the dubious self-interested reasoning for women deserving to go online in peace being that he "likes nerdy girls". The male character delivers the epic speech and commands the wordless woman. Peak niceguy mindset where he still views women in the same lens as the guys he's criticizing, except unlike them he DESERVES to have sex with them because he's just so heckin' nice and respectful!

"It's cringe to derail online conversations with thirstposting" is not an inherently awful message but he ruins it through his lack of self-awareness by showing that he only cares from the standpoint that it gives him an opportunity to virtue signal about what a good boy he is. There is no joke, it's just him fantasizing about looking cool on his soapbox in front of the chicks.

I thought it was kind of funnily similar to Dobson.

I think the most and least shocking thing from that Wiki article is that he's a Quaker. No wonder he's an insufferable shitlib. Him potentially sucking the girldick, well he seems the type.

Plenty of women blend in fine on the internet without calling attention to being female. If she is making it so obvious she is intentionally trying to scapegoat any poor behavior on miss soggy knees.

Sure. Multiple things are true:
  • If a woman fishes for attention about being female when it's not relevant (like in a Java IRC channel), she's being a retard.
  • If a man starts spamming up the conversation with drooling coomer posts at the slightest hint of a woman's presence (like a username that sounds possibly feminine), he's being a retard.
  • If a man starts scrambling to whiteknight online women and puffing himself up to tell everyone that he's better than a bunch of online retards (like XKCD does), he's being a retard.
This trifecta of idiots happens pretty often in nerd groups. Sometimes everyone involved sucks.
