$ (XMR) Monero

Monero is the #1 cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is expensive because it was first and appeals to normies.
Ethereum is expensive because it powers Web 3.0 for better or for worse.
Monero is expensive and will continue to be more and more expensive due to it's utility.
Temper your expectations there bud. Monero is an inflationary coin, so its price will never go parabolic the same way eth or btc will. It will certainly do very well, but price is ancillary to its utility.

Monero was created by another mystery Satoshi-type character, who also disappeared without a trace years ago.

Complete coincidence of course.

While the market is burning (rip 3AC) I'm gonna do a cheeky little necro and revive this thread.

Haveno had to suspend development of their user interface because XMR's value tanked too hard and the two guys involved can't pay the contractor team they hired to do it.

Between this, the debacle over Haveno having ZEC compatibility and ErCiccione trying to get a dude banned from a Monero convention since he was a wignat, the community's tolerance for the project seems to be really diminished. It's unfortunate because what they set out to accomplish (build a XMR-centric dex) is a really important thing to do.

Project contributors and community influencers are giving them shit over on their reddit for not foreseeing the possibility of this happening. I note this because those people have never been quick to criticize the Haveno people before, I think it signifies a greater concern over all the drama Haveno seems to create as while as how toxic and openly hostile much of the community is towards them.

On the brightside, the Haveno people are still working on all the non-frontend stuff and will still be able to launch the dex once it's ready, although they might need to recycle Bisq's UI.

My knowledge about crypto is quite shallow but it seems that Monero is one of the most futur proof coins. And it already sees quite a lot of use in "real" transactions. So not just trading for other coins in exchanges. How will the other coins hold up if they start to regulate the shit out of them?

Based Gentoo Black Man suggests buying some Monero, in these trying times.

This is a really dangerous game you're playing. You could easily lose everything if you're not careful. I suggest you wait and see how the market develops before making any decisions.
I knew everything from the get-go, but thank you nonetheless for your concerns. The most important "golden" rule about crypto/stocks is still:
"Only put money in you can afford to lose".
