It's interesting, it looks like China didn't get the darkest red due to laws that were considered but never passed. They do admit that animal cruelty doesn't exist as a concept in the Chinese legal system, which is a step toward the truth.

They mention some regulation regarding livestock. But that's obviously not real, because millions of pigs were burned alive from 2018 to 2021 due to a livestock virus outbreak.

Bears are kept in cages so small they can't change positions, with an open wound going into their exposed stomach so their captors can regularly remove bile for Traditional Chinese Medicine. That's livestock. I guess if they tell the bear, "I love you," from time to time, they're actually following the fake law (it says animals kept for this purpose have to be loved).

It's amazing how the government of China is able to deceive the world. We saw this during the pandemic, and now we're going to see it with animal welfare.

My autistic mind notices a link between Asian mongo brains and sociopathy. Almost none of them have any qualms injuring animals and or killing them, and they eat anything that doesn't run faster than they do. They don't seem to see animals as living creatures. Wonder why this is.

The word for comrade in Chinese, used to refer to a fellow believer of communist ideology, is also the slang word used for gay men.

In his positions, you could argue Chairman Xi is the biggest comrade, the biggest 同志 (tóngzhì), in the whole world.

They can't arrest you for loving Xi's positions. Xi is a fellow comrade. A bear-like comrade. He's a comrade with a wide base.

Without the CCP, there would be no New China.

This is why, despite how many miles of road they pave, despite building high-speed rail and forcing their children into grueling math programs all day, China will never be a first world country. Basic empathy seems to evade them on a national level. I'm not surprised that the country that drives species to extinction for traditional penis medicine doesn't have any animal cruelty laws.

Surviving numerous famines that did kill many millions every century must have made many consider odd diets they never would have considered otherwise. Although how men come to believe torture makes an animal taste better is beyond me.

Man, there's so many videos floating around (thanks, tiktok) of street vendors in China using massive propane blowtorches to cook dogs alive, it's absolutely unreal. Fucking shithole should unironically be nuked off the face of the planet at this point. Absolutely nothing of value would be lost.

not to be a doomer about it, but I don't think it would be that easy.
on October 16th, Yardfish, the guy who made the video featured at the top of the OP, had contacted me to talk about the cat torture people. I never screencapped his message, but I remember what it said, he described the cat torturers as being like 'the final boss of zoosadism', because unlike the monkey fuckers, the cat abusers in China are rather smart and have miles better opsec.

combine that with the massive language barrier anyone from the English speaking net would face when trying to investigate them (note, that monkey fuckers talk amongst themselves, and to their VOs in English, despite the VOs being Indonesian mainly), and it becomes an immensely tricky prospect.

as much as people in this thread have been slagging off the Chinese, at this moment the only people that have an entrenched ability to do anything about the cat torture, are Chinese activist groups. they have been doing work, but at the end of the day it's a tragedy whenever community activism has to struggle to fight against what should be the prerogative of the government.

I'm hopeful that they'll all see the inside of a slave mine in inner Mongolia, but it's not something that can happen overnight, and not without a lot of hard work, especially grassroots action
