So you ever think "Man I sure could go for a new Banjo Kazooie like game?" Well shit we got it coming and best of all it was made by the people who originally made BK and DK 64, so it ought to be good right? Well I don't know, it's not released yet, but it sure as hell is getting attention, check out its kickstarter that started today. Amazing right?

For those who haven't heard about this ultra hype game, it's a 3D platformer that is based on the "good old" Nintendo 64 days. It's basically going to be Banjo Kazooie but without the copyright.

I'm kind of on the hype train for this game but at the same time just because it's made by the people who gave us the old Rareware titles of the Nintendo 64 doesn't guarantee quality, then again these people seem to love doing this stuff and seem to have a lot of passion for this project so I don't know, I'll most likely purchase it when it comes out.

I've backed this project - as a long time fan of Rare's stuff, it's good to see that despite all that's going on in the gaming industry, there's at least something good happening. I have hope that they'll deliver what they've promised us and won't pull an Aliens: Colonial Marines on us.
 
I'm somewhat skeptical because I saw the whole Mighty #9 debacle and I didn't like what came out of that. On the other hand, here I just don't get why they used a bat as the 'bird'.

This has all the makings of something glorious if done right.

Please Don't let this crash and burn. Ive been hankering for a good Collectithon for a long time, and I can only reply Banjo Kazooie And Banjo Tooie so much.
 
I'm pretty excited about it. I loved the Banjo-Kazooie games on the N64. I'll definitely wait to see reviews first, though.

Fuck it, I'll be cautiously optimistic. We'll at least get a decent game out of this I'll bet.

EDIT: 2019. Well, I suppose I should eat my words. : (

Why does a bat matter?
 
Maybe a bird would come too close to Kazooie or something? Probably why they also made not!Banjo a reptile.

As long as they never ever ever hire that Dana whoever it'll hopefully turn out alright!
 
The bat doesn't really look like it has the strength to lift a thing that big, mostly. Yeah, sure, Kazooie was small-ish too, but that's because she was always inside the bag.

Any info on what do we call Yooka and Laylee, by the way? I don't wanna keep using 'it' until I know.

They said Laylee was a girl, so I can only assume Yooka is a boy.
 
Gonna take something between "cautiously optimistic" and "fuck yeah hype train" for this one. I hope they attempt to meet most of the stretch goals, too. I love Dev commentary, gimme all of it.

Also, I can't wait for people to speedrun it.
 
I'm really hyped for this. I hope that it causes a surge in 3-D Platformers, similar to how the kickstarter of Broken Age caused a brief surge in the Adventure genre.
 
This is cool, but even with an an Alpha, this thing has a small but not negligible chance of turning into a hot mess of delays and half-assed excuses ala Mighty No. 9 or Broken Age. However, it still looks great. The finished product should be worth watching.

Dana who...? The only Dana that I see associated with BK after a quick search is a Dana Ludwig, who seems to be a Web Designer.

Dana was the girl who was a part of the Mighty Number 9 team and went "Why can't the main character of Mighty Number 9 be a girl? Look at the art I made for it. But upper management said no. SEXISM!"

Oh, okay, I don't give any fucks about Megaman or MN9 so that's why I didn't know about it. Thanks for educating me, shitlord!
