Your current and next phone. - Smartphone general

Are you from the US? The amount of horror stories I've heard about vendors in Freedomland, especially cell providers, going the extra mile to prevent unlocking bootloaders and flashing/changing ROMs is insane.
yep. maybe that was the reason it didn't work. i hadn't thought of that. what's weird is that i was able to unlock the bootloader without any problems but it just refused to flash anything (even the stock rom, which is why it's bricked)

Don't have a mobile phone, will probably buy a flip phone or a really basic smartphone at some point since my only use for it would be making phone calls (mostly browse the internet on PC or tablet, don't need another device to do it with) and taking the occasional picture.

Kyocera Duoforce Pro 2, my recent development of butterfingers tends to cause me to drop my phones more often but the Kyocera phones are basically phones built like the cases you'd put your $1000 iPhone in to protect it from drops.
As for my future phone? Probably just a landline phone and that's it, never liked the concept of smartphones at all, look at what's happened to most people, those retards can keep their faggot smartphones.

I gotta say after my last experience with Samsung, I thought I'd never buy one again. But, I got a really good deal on a Galaxy S22 and figured it was worth giving up root because I don't need it anyway and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's incredibly fast, the display is nice, and it's not oversized like the 22 ultra. HUGE improvement over my Pixel 4. The only thing left to be desired is the battery life. It's still good, just not great, but I've never had a situation where I've felt like I really needed more battery life anyway.

I think I'm back on team Samsung for good now. Hopefully I'm able to get at least 3 years out of this thing.

Interesting fact, Kyocera was probably the first company to make a dual screen phone.

Two functional touchscreens in a laptop configuration, at least.

Came out in 2011, heres a dated phone combined with even more dated website

Combined with it being 200 dollars, only about 260 now and it would seem it would have been a great value, don't think they were smooth sailing to use though. First of it's kind meant first of it's kind smartphone jank.
This wasn't tried much ever after this. AT&T made the Axon M with some Chinese company ZTE

You've got phones with bendable screens that function in a similar way as this, but I wouldn't really consider that the same. And they cost a fortune.

Been using a Pixel 3 for 3.5 years and I don't plan on getting rid of it until it absolutely won't work anymore. Best smart phone I've had since the inception of smart phones.
I've an old pixel too, I will probably keep buying refurbished pixels until they're no longer supported

The iPhone 6s that my parents bought me in like 2018 has finally shit the bed and stopped charging properly. Tried fixing the charging port myself but no dice so I decided that I'll finally leave the iCuck prison. I'm not much of a big spender so did some research on budget smartphones and ordered a Realme 8 (very appropriate considering my name) for just £170. Here's to hoping that China's smartphones live up to what I've read about them.

I've got a 4a only because I broke my 3a. I hate the on-screen fingerprint readers. They make less sense and are harder to find. The one inside an indent in the back is so much more comfortable. The only feature I'd like is wireless charging, but I'm fine without it.
Also undeletable bloatware infuriates me, so it's the best choice for me.

I personally use a Nokia 225 4G as my main device. I used to have a low-end Moto G something, but I realized that smartphones were kinda fucking up my life. The best thing about it is that there's no social media (well, besides a facebook icon on the home screen, but that just opens up the early 2010s mobile site in the browser) and other bullshit to distract me. Also it has a removable battery, which is extremely uncommon these days. I predict that I might be able to get a decade of use out of it. No KaiOS bullshit either; it's running Nokia's own in-house OS.

Honestly I wanted to just use an old BlackBerry at first, but it's literally impossible to set them up since BB shut down the activation servers. Bummer.
Should your Nokia die, consider the Light Phone.

Current phone:
Sony Xperia 5 II because I'm a handlet and it's pretty narrow.

Next phone:
Either Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 or ASUS Zenfone 9.
I'd love to have a Sony again but my carrier stopped having them and basically subsidizes Samsung phones by a lot.
Will be the Flip probably because it has S-Pen support, flip phones are damn cool and I'm willing to suffer One UI for that. No microSD slot is a bummer though.

I currently go with CAT S61, still waiting for someone to crack open the bootloader. It's a brick, but I like the laser and FLIR camera, and being able to drop and drown it.

However I can't imagine owning any bigger phone than that and I miss "compact" lines of phones.
Recently had to find a friend of mine replacement for his old LG G5 which is sort of dying. He's pretty picky with phones and it was near-impossible to find anything with the same size. Eventually we did settle on Asus Zenfone 9 once it hits the market and tbh if I had to upgrade, that would be my pick too.
