Your first exposure to Chris

Found him on ED, watched a few videos, wondered why the fuck someone would call a sports bra a muscle bra.. Watched more and more, and became fascinated.

During 2011, I encountered him while watching The Hardcore Kid's Top 10 YouTube Failures list. I looked up a good bunch of info on the wiki. Since then, I checked the wiki every day. Best decision I ever made.

I first heard of Chris indirectly through another lolcow a few years ago.

Some of my friends and I have been following the antics (and fighting with just as often) of a wannabe horror and sci-fi author named Nickolaus Pacione. He's the one who posts really incomprehensible and confusing stories where the horror "cannot be described", then starts threatening people who call him out on his utter lack of writing ability. Nick frequently threatens to beat up his male detractors and rape his female enemies, but like most internet tough guys, he's probably incapable of backing up his threats in real life. Several years ago, someone actually confronted him in person. Nick giggled nervously and ran away.

Anyway, some of Pacione's biggest "fans" knew about Chris, and they would mention him from time to time. I was curious enough to check out his ED page one afternoon. The first thing I remember about the article was its length. It just went on and on and on, and I wondered if there was an ending in sight.

As I read on, I went from feeling slightly amused to concerned to uncomfortable to utterly disgusted, particularly after I read about Chris' treatment of Megan. I finally closed the page after seeing a picture of Chris in the nude. For years, I thought that while Nick Pacione might be a disgusting human being, he hasn't done a lot of the things that Chris has done, just because he was trying to impress a girl, or because he was manipulated into it by the weens.

More recently, someone posted the video of THAT IS MY HOUSE to the private forum my friends and I use to talk about Nick's antics. I clicked on it and found it quite funny watching Chris lose his shit about something that was his fault, and it was even funnier to see Bob come in and start ranting and raving at his autistic manchild of a son. I started to lurk the CWCki sometime after that.

I had already known a few things about Chris prior to this. One day after Nick posted a particularly incoherent attack on his enemies, one of my friends posted "Wow, Nicky's halfway to CWCville by now!" There followed a few posts talking about Chris; namely, Bob's death, the events of October 28th, Chris losing his virginity to a prostitute, and Barb's oh-so charming nickname "Snorlax".

Oh gosh, I don't remember if I posted in this thread or not since I come and go like the wind and shit.

I remember a friend of mine mentioning him in a conversation one day(many years ago) about how this guy who frequented The End had his own ED page. I looked him up and got a few chuckles. For a while I kind of forgot about it until I stumbled across a Livejournal post on a community called getoffmyspace. Somebody posted his MySpace article, so that's when I decided to dig a little deeper. Found out Chris at the time lived a few minutes away. A IRC channel was started around that time so I decided to go in there. I guess there were so many ween trolls because I got banned the first time around when I came in saying that I lived near him(pretty sure it was Clyde). Came back after a while and met some pretty rad people(hi Marvin :3). Aaaaand, I'm sure you all know what happened shortly after.

Like what most people are saying, ED is where I stumbled upon OPL. This was when ED was first around and I didn't really pay much mind to Chris' antics. I also saw stuff posted on assorted Chans that also piqued my interest, I'm sure. I read about him, and kept looking back every so often.

The past year and a half is where I've been reading about Chris the most. I was on ED again, and then I noticed there was an entire wiki dedicated to OPL.. And from there on in I've looked for out for updates and keep up to speed with any recent going on. And that led into getting here and browsing the forums. And I have to say, everyone on the forum makes keeping up with all of this that much more entertaining.

I was heavily into ED during the original trolling but his antics were always in the periphery; He was just another page out of many. I ended up focusing on him around 2010 and have been happily entertained since.

In 2008 (or was it early 2009???) I found Chris on ed during the midst of one of the editing wars. The julay sex tape had been leaked and I for some reason thought julay and crystal were the same person. I checked up on it often and followed the links just to figure out what the hell was going on. Im still not certain I know what's going on ;)

My brother introduced me to the Cwcki in 2010. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first because I started with reading the Megan saga and thought it was just about some weird guy harassing a girl. The deeper I dug into it, the more intrigued and horrified I became. Four years later, checking on the forums and wiki has become a daily ritual for me.

I saw posts on 4chan posting pages of the Sonichu comic. I thought it was hilarious and all, but didn't know it would progress to what it is today. However wouldn't be til I discovered Chris himself was when the drama began to start and he earned himself an ED page.

I'm from Michigan originally, but I went to college in NYC and one of my friends sent the video of Chris doing the Juggalo rap because I was known for trolling dance parties in Brooklyn by putting old school Insane Clown Posse on the sound system and telling hipsters they were a hot new underground rap group from Detroit.

That Juggalo rap was the one time I thought Chris might actually have a touch of the Down's.

My first exposure to Chris was due to my searching for autism on the Internet. We just had a baby boy and he wasn't really very communicative. Didn't play much, didn't make eye contact. Classic autism symptoms.

So imagine my horror as a new dad to discover what ATSIMU can do to a person- turn him into a Chris. Thankfully I didn't stop there, I found plenty of reputable sites for real information on autism. But I found myself...drawn to the lolcow ever since.

I found ED around 2008 and read about different Lolcows but OPL really caught my eye. I followed the link to the CWCki and entertained myself for some months. Then I forgot all about him for a few years, until I remembered the CWCki last year and decided to check what he'd been up to. That was when I joined the forums. I regret nothing.

I discovered ED back in 2009 and started browsing through it. It was only a matter of time before I discovered Chris.

I actually forgot the corollary to my story earlier.

I first located Chris (and the CWCki) via my love for horrible comics, but I wound up sticking around due to his relevance to my current profession (I work with developmentally-disabled children). You'd be amazed how many of them not only know of OPL, but are fricking terrified of ever being like him, because many of them know someone personally who is just like him in some facet or another. I often find myself wondering if Chris has realized the amount of good he's done by being a horrid example, but then I quickly realize that he wouldn't care unless it got him Legos, Sex, or Sexy Legos, and I start smelling toast again without toast being physically present.

For me, it's actually a little obscure. I've always been a fan of independent animators from like... back in the Newgrounds days, like Egoraptor. The first exposure I ever had was from Happy Harry's weirdass fucking Nicolas Cage remix. It's a split second almost at the end, but someone makes a special appearance:

At this time, I was intrigued because in my mind I was like "What's this Sonic recolor doing here?" but without any names to search, I just dismissed it. Fast forward about a year, I start getting interested in 3d modeling and I fucking see this:

It's at this point I realize this guy and his Sonic recolor must be big shit, and this time I had a name to search... which inevitably lead me to the Spazkid parody, which completely fucking sold me. Ever since, I just load up ED or the CWCki whenever I'm in a bad mood to... put things in perspective, I guess ;)
