Your first exposure to Chris

I think I got into him while aimlessly browsing YouTube, back when commentary rants were a thing.

The only one that is still funny is Axel Doi's rant on Chris's Autism Tutorial. Axel himself has major aspergers, but he's still on point about a lot of things.

I remembered another thing that made me curious about him: I was listening to an episode of True Capitalist Radio in which one of the callers asked Ghost, "How does it feel to be the new Christian Weston Chandler of the Internet?" Ghost then said CWC was an "entitlement recipient who should be on the other end of a woodchipper."

I don't recall the exact specifics but it was while trawling ED years ago, around the time he released the future message. I just couldn't believe the antics of this strange manchild, and I've been following him from time to time ever since.

Like 2008ish when I got wind of Sonichu. At the time I felt mixed about it. It mostly felt like the poorly written fanfiction though, almost of the quality of Storyprovider.

This was mine. No, not kidding - I was digging through Nintendo Power magazines at a library a few towns away sometime in early '05 and actually read this letter back when it was new. Even at the time, I was a bit put off by his calling himself a "frustrated virgin" in a kids' magazine. Of course, I never would've guessed what a horrific experience the unfiltered, uncensored "Christian C." would turn out to be.

It would be a couple of years later before I discovered that Chris was an Internet phenomenon. Through... TV Tropes, I regret to say.

So, how did you guys first come into contact with Our Pet Lolcow?

When Bob walked in and told him to shut that god damn thing off

My first exposure was also the Nintendo Power ad. I really didn't think much of it at the time, I just remember being shocked that Sprung had actually helped someone. My next exposure was August 3rd, 2008. The rest is history...

It was around May of 2009 or so. By pure happenstance I came across the "It's All Coming Back To Me"/Wedding to Ivy video on YT without any context or prior knowledge of Chris at all (though that goes without saying, since this is the 'first exposure' thread). I remember trying to decipher what in the world I was watching as the scene unfolded before me: Was this guy proposing to a cartoon he'd (poorly) drawn? Did he think the cartoon was sentient? I was stuck somewhere between hilarity and confusion, wondering if I was watching a troll or someone sincere. I remember showing it to my now-husband, curious to see his impression of this. He had, that point, some knowledge of who Chris Chan was and pointed me in the right direction of finding out more info. It's nearly 7 years later and my fascination with this guy and his antics hasn't subsided, only waxed and waned slightly. I guess in a weird way I feel fortunate to have found him when I did, still in the thick of the golden trolling years.

This was mine as well. I didn't think much of it when I first read it (I believe I was only 9 at the time.) I re-discovered him around 2010 when I first started getting into my 4chan/ED phase every edgy 15-year-old gets into, and I couldn't believe that a person like him could possibly be real. I read a few articles on the CWCki but I never got too involved.

I came to the forums for Jace, but by virtue of being here it did make me interested in following along and reading the (massive) backlog.

a long dead imageboard called dramachan in 2008/2009ish. it was mostly for furry and deviantart drama, his thread stuck out since it wasn't about crappy wolf drawings or fursuits. around that time the liquid saga was starting, so i was pretty confused and i didn't fully get into CWC "culture" until it ended. i was in high school and me and my terrible friends would quote the animated series all the time and i'd send chris boku no pico and gay porn i'd trace over to look like sonichu because i was an epic trawl just in it for :pickle:teh lulz :pickle:

Ive heard about him and of him on and off throughout the years, as a 4chan user he would come up often, but i never really took an interest in it.

I regret missing out on the golden age because it was not until about 2 summers ago I was browsing 1d4chan and encyclopedia dramatica where it finally linked me to sonichu wiki, The rest is history as they say.

I first heard of his name through the comments section of some commentary videos (people compared some kid to him). Then my brother told a bit about Chris and showed me Black Buster Critic's Sonic Brain fart video of him on youtube (before it was taken down from his channel. There's mirrors of it on youtube). I couldn't believe that this was real. Then I checked out the Cwcki and the ED page on that day. It's fun to read!
I believe this was around 2009-2010 ish

That cracked photo competition image was my first exposure to Chris, and within the same week one of my YT subscriptions did a review of Sonichu, which lead me to the CWCki.

A loooong time ago I saw the Sonichu page where he's talking to Sonichu about looking for a boyfriend-free girl, and I was curious what the story behind it was, but I never got around to looking into it.
I heard the name "Chris-chan" floating around the internet, but again, never really looked into it.
But then I saw a thread on another forum about some guy macing a Gamestop employee because Sonic had blue arms, and THAT I looked into, and it led me here.
