Your first exposure to Chris

TV Tropes for me. Read the (absurdly serious) page on Sonichu, decided to find out more and I haven't looked back since.

The first time I had even heard of CWC, it was when my boyfriend had shown me his video of "recycling sperm." I was absolutely disgusted but intrigued by most of his videos and the way he acts. I've watched the documentary on him recently, and his psyche absolutely amazes me.
As someone who is going into the medical field (originally psychology), I'm fascinated at what has transpired over the years in his videos and how much has changed. I've been thinking about doing a case study on him, and maybe use it for my Mental Health nursing class this next year.
It's strange that I am so intrigued with how he functions and thinks, but I think a case study could help clear a few things up about Chris and why he acts the way he does. I just joined this forum, but I am hoping to use this community to create a documentary (still debating: paper or video?) about his life and go more in depth into his psyche. Please help me out and message me with any information you think might be helpful. Thank you!

I have exposed myself to "Cakefarts." I am crying and possibly going to be ill.
If you haven't seen the video Chris's... Satire? Tribute? Is based on, don't look for it. The original is far more graphic.

One upside to CWC's less-than-stellar cinematography: Graininess and bad lighting helps mask those kinds of details.

I can't sleep because of it. I might need to nurse some wine...

I first discovered Chris while searching for strange web sites. After coming across a webpage titled as such, one of the headlines read "Man drinks own sperm." referring of course to the navy in the Fanta cup.

For whatever reason, I was compelled to view this, thinking it was too crazy to be true. I had to see for myself.

This opened the door way to the fascinating world of Chris Chan for me, and I was able to witness all of the sagas from that point on as they unfolded. The amount of content back then was updated near daily, and I haven't been able to take my eyes away from the train wreck since.

With me, it was that "Insane Subcultures" article that appeared on Cracked a year or so ago. When I saw that picture of a blank-eyed CWC wearing a cartoon character medallion and surrounded by toys and then learned that he has a wiki that chronicles his life, I couldn't believe it was for real.

A year or so later, I'm now a member of the forum and I still can't believe this shit is real...

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Like the creator of this thread, I too found out about Chris in that Nintendo Power letter he wrote about the Sprung game.

I was 14 or 15 at the time, and I just thought that the letter was weird & off-putting.

It wasn't until 2012 until I found out about Chris via his ED page.

:heart-empty:

I was on ED looking at pages about lolcows, and Chris kept coming up, so I figured anyone who's name keeps popping up all over ED must be really fucking bad. And I was right.

That was a few weeks before Bob died, then I felt bad for making fun of someone who just lost a parent and didn't check in regularly much until the game place incident where he almost ran over Snyder. Sympathy GONE.

Then I'd check in every few months and see if he was still alive and if he looked any less disgusting than before. I only really got into him again after the game stop incident, and only then because it made me mad because my boyfriend works at a game stop and the day after Christmas (when Chris maced the dude) is usually tied with Black Friday as the busiest and most stressful day. Which was multiplied already because Xbox live and Sony had been hacked and people were whining nonstop about it to customer service employees, I still feel really bad for the game stop guy.:medallion:

I first saw his "recycling" video some time in 2009/10 but at the time I didn't know who he was... then in 2012 I saw a site (can't remember what it was though) mentioning his name which led me to the cwcki and the ED page and my life has never been the same since.

Oddly enough, it wasn't Sonichu they were talking about, it was this thing:

That pikachu is high as shit.

There was this dude named Blackbustercritic who did a lot of stuff on Youtube including Sonic Brainfarts; A series where he would take a notoriously stupid Sonic fan and explain why they suck and his other fans kept asking for a dude named Chris-Chan, I looked him up, found the CWCki, and just slowly read any articles that were of importance to his life or to various sagas over the course of 5 or 6 years.

Someween posted a photo of CWC, shirtless and wearing the original medallion of fail on bodybuilding.com misc back in 09 or so pretending to be Chris and asking for advice on chest development.

Sadly I missed the golden age but the second season of Chris Chan was just as amusing.

I was following CringeChannel on Twitter and he always posts a lot of stuff about Chris-chan (for obvious reasons). CringeChannel tweeted something about Chris-chan's court date and I wondered, "Who is Chris-chan?" A quick Google search brought me to his ED page and BAM. Shortly thereafter, I found the CWCiki and began perusing it for months and months and months, learning everything I could about this Internet phenomenon.
