Songs from animated movies. I blame nostalgia.

in chicago, we have boystown, a neighborhood with gay bars as far as the eye can see. most of these gay bars have "theme nights" where they play music videos of dance anthems and it's honestly the most fun ever. at least once, every single gay bar has played an hour of robyn and i belt along and vogue WITHOUT FAIL. la roux, ellie goulding, daft punk, dragonette are played ad nauseum but i can't even BE MAD

honestly most kitschy club music is guaranteed to put you into a good mood for the rest of your week

I've been listening to songs put out by Starbomb recently. You know, those Youtube songs based on old NES games. My favorite is "Crashervania."

Mew Mew Power/Tokyo Mew Mew's English dubbed intro and BGM, if that counts.

Southern pride/minstrel music. Specifically Dixie and Stephen Foster songs. I'm not a Southerner, but the songs I've listen to are catchy and even sweet...

I feel weird listening to it because of the unfortunate history that plagues the songs. I know many people who dismiss southern music because they assume everything in the South is racist.

My Chemical Romance and Skrillex. I've gotten such shit from music hipsters about those things-- my poor feels.

I like some of the vocalizations, and I think it would be cool if it was more heavy/doomy

I feel you, man. When I was 13 I used to think that Metallica, Korn, Slipknot and Linkin Park are the best bands ever. Hell, sometimes I still fancy doing a guitar solo-heavy instrumental version of "In The End."

Almost the entirety of the songs from that bizzare CGI Donkey Kong Country cartoon. To this day I have no idea why they chose to make DKC into an awkwardly animated musical spanning multiple seasons.

More like why the fuck not.

Seriously though, this show was a childhood favorite of mine. I still know most of the songs by heart. Donkey Kong's singing voice sounds straight out of a 90's boy band. My personal favorites:
DK and the crew take on rape culture

Okay, totally legit here. Ice Ice Baby, Biz Markie, The Offspring (aka my high school sountrack), early Linkin Park, some of the Pretty Cure Openings, Sailor Star Song (from Sailor Moon), the entire Rocky Horror Soundtrack (really hard not to sing Sweet Transvestite), anything from The Producers, Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous, and the 60's Spideman theme.
