Respectfully disagree. I think idubbbz did change the commentary scene and you can still see this today in the number of people trying to recapture that "Content Cop" energy plus they were a relatively big event when they were new.I'm sorry but the way I see it, I don't think Idubbbz was this big game changer that Tom likes to boast about.
The Keemstar video didn't do shit to his career in the long run. He still around today, still has a following and is even getting into the boxing seen. All that video did was just made Keem the person to hate that week because Idubbbz said he sucks so he sucks now. And like you said only a logs like h3h3 give a shit
Like with Keem, Leafy just because the person to shit on that week. But unlike Keem, Leafy went into hiding for years. And that was mostly do his dumbass making the situation worse.
And even then, when Leafy left other youtuber started to emulate Leafys style of video, and a lot of them were gaining a ton of attention from it.
At the end of the day, people only change because they were leeching off the success of Idubbbz. It was all just a desperate attempt to keep themselves from going irrelevant. And you can see how well that worked out for them in the end
The whole "either all of them are okay or none of them are okay" slur discourse was good but, to bring up h3h3 again, you don't see him living by this at all. As for the whole wanting outsiders to care about my opinion, most outsiders think I'm ether a Nazi or a Tranny. So I don't really see the point of doing so
Again sorry Sprate Header but I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this
That said who fucking cares?
Idubbz fell off and the commentary community fell off. It was only ever relevant because normies followed it in 2015 but that was forever ago in internet years and now that revelation is about as relevant as Sargon redefining "skeptic" YouTube. No one who isn't in this space could tell you a single event of any real significance to happen in this arena in years.
If you are going to do a takedown video in current year and you are following the content cop formula it's like trying to make a hit movie and using early 2000's teen comedies as the blueprint. The format had it's time but it's stale. All the interesting people moved on to other things and now it's mostly lazy grifters picking at the scraps.
