Honestly given what a liar is, I wouldn't necessarily believe he did all the editing on my own; There are so many places where you can buy templates and even ones where they do all the editing online for you. Inserting things into pictures and filters and all that stuff John is great at, can easily be out-sourced and a new person could do anything. But honestly his editing can be done by anyone with the right program. It still takes the work and a lot of people don't know about them. But having looked at a few of these places John's style is basically these places that put stuff together for you.
He probably did everything himself, and maybe even one of these services would be himself, but if the guy is breathing he's lying so who knows if he did it through editing or a program or not honestly.
I'm trying to remember which stream I heard it on, it was during the latest Johnswan fuckup, and I
think it was the acheeto stream Nick did though I could be very off base on that, wherever it was Nick described in some detail how John does editing, and something tells me if Nick hadn't seen it himself he wouldn't have mentioned it given their history at this point.
If we are to believe Nick, the process he saw was extremely efficient. John allegedly had "transitions and scenes set up on a streamdeck" which John had set up for editing (quotes are to indicate
almost the exact words used, I'm not a Premier or After Effects expert by any means so I've only got a vague sense of how this would work), the end result being he could easily put shiny things together very quickly.
I think you're picking up on that aspect of the editing with John's videos, it's a bit formulaic when you turn down the lensflare and actually look at the mechanics of it, because it is almost like an assembly line the way he does it.
The best recent example is of course John's lackluster Bella video which went head to head with Tom's far superior video. John put that thing together in a matter of days if the story is to be believed while Tom had been working on his for rather more time, and the end product showed the difference, but John was able to get his out hours before Tom's released. Frankly, if I didn't know the Bella story before I saw it pop up on recommended, I might have thought John's video was way better than it actually was because it looked so slick, but peel back the shiny transitions and it's not all that complex nor is the script very good if you have a remote familiarity with the lore involved.
All that to say that for the videos John has currently released, I think he's done them himself, if only because I think he might have more videos coming out if he did use ghost editors since he could basically just direct the work of a hoard of children like the biggest loser conductor in the world while raking in that sweet adsense money.
That said I can absolutely believe he started using ghost editors from among the hoards of children he seems to hang out with in discord if credible evidence came out to suggest it. It makes perfect sense as TRO kind of puts together videos this way & is damn successful doing it, and being a bit of a psycho John's propensity will be towards mimicry of successful people around him, a process which he saw up close since he was a TRO editor for a good while.
