I think my biggest point of contention was the ad read. I put the video on as background noise and the fucking thing felt like it lasted for three eternities. It might also be because TRO sounded particularly forced during it and that the "product" itself just rubbed me the wrong way big time.

I do not believe at all that anyone watchs TRO without doing something in the background.
His videos are the definition of filler so it isnt surprising his ad reads are super long.

I still don't get how he got popular at all though.

I get why pelican pepper is because he at least does condensed internet stories.

Watching someone wag their finger at others loses its novelty very very quickly, especially when the commenter himself has no real personality to attract viewers. I would watch an IH video about Dr. Phil because I KNOW it'll be hilarious and unique, and would definitely want to hear what Emplemon has to say about him, but I'm not touching TRO's (and tbh the entire CC's) videos on him.

It's just as you say. Decent background noise. Before the recent uptick in ad frequency by YT, it was convenient to have a video playing in the background (If you were say cooking, cleaning or working on another device it's a bitch to have to stop what you're doing and clean your hands to pick another video). Now that YT seems determined to play an ad every 4 minutes, there's really no point in using long videos for bg noise anymore. .

This is literally the biggest drama in the Commentary Community right now BTW mainly because apparently half of their female population has been ERPing with Salvo (which includes Repzion's insane ex).

This happens in the community every so often that nothing happens.

This has been the entire community for the past few months, I think it's super telling that most of the drama that occurred for the last half a year has revolved around Salvo Pancakes, he's basically the only one holding commentary together.
Also, all the big channels like TommyC, DeOrio, Augie, Bowblax, and Edwin have been far less active and their channel growth has been mostly stagnant and barely putting out content (the only one trying is Flamingo Fabio). If anything, Commentary drama has been focused on smaller, local drama shows like Salvo, Doc on the Radio, Now Recording, and Even... Kinochet's Twitter... like who cares about this shit? Aside from Salvo cheating on his wife with his haram because that's hilarious.

But, there are fairly serious elements to this story because some girls involved here are severely mentally ill, and are very traumatized by this. In other words, it's not looking good for Salvo, everyone is cutting tied, I wonder what's going to happen after he gets kicked out of the commentary drama cycle.

He's definitely the tard who started this whole "longer = better" commentary format. Long form content used to be usually reserved for topics that a creator was highly passionate about and deserved a sort of amateur documentary-ish type of video. Now everyone wants to squeeze out a video that's at least over an hour for the sake of it. The reason why TRO is so insufferable is that he feels that his opinion is held in such high regard (even to the point of it being his channel name) that he needs to explain the entire backstory of whoever he is talking about before getting to his often shriveled and meaningless point 3 hours into the video. His ego and forced posh British accent makes me want to claw my eyes out. He's begging for approval in every single one of his videos.
