Lame, a few months ago I had uploaded the instrumental of Voltaire's Brains! I had recorded off the Season One DVD of Billy and Mandy and suddenly I find the comments disabled because I used footage from the show for recognizablility. Thanks, Youtube.

Man, Youtube just keeps getting shittier. This past year I've actually started going to Bitchut occasionally to watch the few creators I enjoy who actually post their video's on there just to spite Youtube, even though Bitchut is still a bit..."eh".

Will it make a difference? Probably not. Does it make me feel good about myself for a fleeting moment? You bet, and that's enough for me to open up a new tab.

Youtube really has put creators in a zugzwang. Leaving the platform would be a massive hit to viewership and income, probably even more than the hit they take putting up with Susan's bullshit. It really does suck. I wish people would be willing to at least try watching content on alternate sites like this.

I wonder what Max G’s gonna think of this?

THE FIRST EPISODE OF DON’T HUG ME I’M SCARED IS FOR KIDS ACCORDING TO YOUTUBE LOOK IT UP HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO FUCKING WAY HAHAHAHAHA
This is going to end up killing animation and other stuff on Youtube in general.

If you ask me, this is going to hinder a lot of animators because the point of putting your stuff out there is to have people talk about it. The less people that talk about your cool animation or funny parody or whatever then the more it will hinder your growth. Publicity is key to getting the popularity on the Internet and the less publicity that you get then the harder it is for you to make it in your field of entertainment when you can't even interact much with your own audience or even when the audience aren't even allowed to give their thoughts on your work.

This is why content creators should never put all of their eggs in one basket (diversifying where you put your stuff online is important) because when the day finally comes where that social media platform falls then it will start to really affect them big time.

Oh look, youtube is fucking everything up again. Is this the third or fourth time this has happened in the past few months or what? More importantly, who cares? It's far past time for everyone who gives a shit about being a "content creator" to move all of their stuff onto other sites anyway.

For some reason some people are still in denial, but YouTube is turning into cable television. Cable is on it's last legs, and over the last many few years YouTube has become a superpower in entertainment, hosting millions and millions of users. It's so completely and painfully obvious that advertisers from cable television are jumping ship and swimming to YouTube for salvation. Why is YouTube being so censored, with so many things being considered violent or out of their terms of service? Because it looks bad to advertisers. While YouTube used to be a haven for people to be creative, make content and videos that helped build the foundation of what the internet is today, it is now a dying medium where you don't make videos for fun, you make them for profit. It's not as if YouTube should be hyped to be such a pillar of the internet, I would say places like newgrounds and various imageboards contributed more to culture, but YouTube led the late 2000s and early 2010s. How YouTube works now explains everything, and we all know it, that's why the trending page is hot garbage and has no interesting content, it's the new popular cable channels. It's why comedian clips and sports games, why makeup and news and music are all pushed so far. That's the new thing, and advertisers want to drive their money grubbing roots into it and censor it so it can be for everyone. YouTube kids existing at all is a testament to that.

Here is the unedited message that appears for the YouTube app when you use an Amazon brand fire stick tv setup, not actually sure the name but I am sure of the following:

And in this video they say that YouTube was never made for people under 13.
And they can’t just leave the YouTube kids app as is, because parents leave their child to watch YouTube unsupervised! God bless that COPPA, saving kids from swear words.

Man, I remember when cable television was the more sexy and violent alternative to regular network TV, does the Current Year version of everything really have to suck this bad?

Well holy shit are they this stupid. Earth to Youtube, your platform was never made for kids to begin with. All of the children's content would appear way later into the lifespan of your stupid platform.

When I first discovered Youtube for the first time, a lot of the content was not for kids.

If you remember anything from Youtube's distant past you had stuff like Smosh where they were the first to make edgy content that teenagers liked at the time, you had nigahiga where he became famous with his 'How To Be' series, you had TVFilthyFrank where Joji used to make videos where he would dress up in a pink spandex suit to do funny, dumb, and offensive things, and the list goes on.

Just how incompetent that you have to be to screw over content creators that have done nothing wrong?
If you ask me, I will not be that surprised if websites like Newgrounds start to see a surge in their web traffic and then when the inevitable happens where we see a brand new video sharing platform appears to be like Youtube but without all of the bullshit.

The biggest enemy to big tech is themselves when they keep biting the hand that feeds them. Youtube was cool and as soon as a new guy shows up to then attract all the biggest content creators to move to their platform then Youtube will become the MySpace of video sharing platforms by then.

Animators have started to do that already.
Brandon Turner has started putting his stuff on Newgrounds, and the Newgrounds Twitter is surprisingly active promoting other people’s cartoons.
It’ll be hilarious if this actually makes Newgrounds relevant again.

Well hey I grew up with Newgrounds where I used to play games on it, watch neat animations, porn stuff, cool fan art and artwork, and so on.

At least Newgrounds is still a great platform for people like animators, artists, and game developers to make whatever they want and show it off and not have to deal with the draconian censorship and unethical business practices done by all of those big tech companies in general.

Not only that, but back then the line between the kid and adult demographics was probably a bit blurrier back then. And moral standards in general were a lot looser.
That was pretty much true. I suppose being such a new medium also was the case, though America did have the Hays Code which put a stop to complete adulterous affairs on the big screen for a number of years. Animation studios often had to be clever to get around such strict rules as such gags could get censored easily. The code only ended when the rating system was put in place in the late 60's.

You know what I can't wait for? The FTC realizing that them implementing COPPA was a mistake after seeing what YouTube considers "Kid friendly".

That would be a glorious day indeed.
The FTC (or was it FCC?) specifically told youtube not to use their rətarded artificial "intelligence" bullshit and just give uploaders a checkbox to mark whether something is suitable for kids or not. Youtube decided to be rətarded anyway, because there was never a situation they encountered that they didn't want to overthink, overcomplicate and utterly fuck up.

When even the government-owned trade federations are calling YouTube fuckups, that's when they should listen. But fuck the government, YouTube plays by its own rules!
