YouTube Sponsors - Own Façade Chinese Steel Knives and a square foot of Scottish Plot of Land for $420

Noticed right-leaning YTers shilling for gold IRA investment services.

Nick Rekieta was sponsored by Birch Gold last fall, supposedly run by a former Iraqi pornographer.

Listened to two videos from Alison Morrow and Michael Malice who both had ad reads for Patriot Gold.

Ads seem focused on just getting people to call in to talk to a live person about converting some of their investment assets into "gold" on paper.

Seems targeted at the skeptic/conspiracy theory/prepper community who have an inkling that precious metals hold their value but don't know how to go the next step of acquiring some physically.

"Biden's ruined the economy! Inflation is running rampant! Fiat currency is devalued and worthless"
I listen to old episodes of Coast to Coast AM and Bill Cooper's Hour of the Time from the early to mid 90s and almost every episode is sponsored by some gold/precious metals investment company. This shit has been going on since the 70s from what I've heard from some old school prepper/militia people.

NerdeCrafter has just released a combination unboxing/crafting video sponsored by those paragons of virtue, Temu.

I know that I shouldn't be surprised by this, but I find myself feeling vaguely disappointed anyway. Some people are politely chiding her in the comments.

My shitty phone is throwing a tantrum and won't let me take screen caps.

To double post from above, all comments even mentioning Temu, regardless of tone, appear to have been deleted from the NerdECrafter sponsored video. So it appears that Jackie, who has always been extremely vocal about integrity and honesty and not selling out, has, indeed, sold out. To Temu, of all companies.

I know that everyone at some point in their lives has to deal with the devil in order to make a crust, but given that she's worth at least a couple million, it seems unlikely that she's hurting for money.

I guess everyone sells out eventually.

I've seen quite a few sponsored videos from YouTubers featuring Vevor tools in them as of late.

USA Today has published a bunch of glowing reviews about Vevor's products. (A)

They can afford to send shitloads of free tools to influencers and they've been favorably written about by a major news website.

Vevor must be pretty big... but how come nobody has ever heard of them before? Who are they?

If you go to Vevor's website, it's very light on for details about who they are and where they are located.

The Den Of Tools tried getting to the bottom of it, and it appears that Vevor is a sales company based in California with a factory in China. Turns out that the owners of Vevor have been hit with a ton of lawsuits over alleged IP infringements. They also trade under a bunch of different names and can be difficult to contact.

Reviews from consumers who actually bought Vevor's tools are about as positive as you'd expect.

tbh the only tool reviews on YouTube that I trust 100% are Project Farm's reviews, because he pays for every item he reviews and has gone for years without taking a single review item for free (as far as I know).

I wonder if she's seen this video...

I guarantee she'll change her tune when her bffs like Moriah Elizabeth or Jazza inevitably get their intellectual property ripped off and start making noises.

Honestly, there is utterly no doubt in my mind that she knows exactly how bad Temu's reputation is, given how online she is. Not addressing people's questions about her motivations, and even worse, deleting any comment that even mentions Temu, is pretty much proof that she's been given a nice chunk of change to spruik them, imho.

Anybody here have any info/thoughts on incogni? Seen a couple of YouTubers I like get sponsored by them (some of them who only take sponsorships from products they actually like supposedly):

https://incogni.com/
Damn that looks cheap and baaddddddd... Are they trying to make people blind looking at their site so they can sell glaases? I worked for a company awhile ago that got mixed up with Lifelock, looks like the same kind of nonsense.

My favs are Simon Whistler promoting hair loss products (Keeps), Marzgurl pushing Mancscaped and weight loss products, Pat Contri pushing weed gummies, and Joe Scott going on about Nebula for 10 minutes at the end of every video.

Nebula in particular looks scummy, just paywalled youtube videos. At least with prepper products and even Keeps there might be something out of it.

It's all the worse if you're not in the US since many of these sponsorships and others aren't available to anyone abroad because of legal/regulatory reasons like requiring a social security number.

Keeps is only available to US customers, while Privacy.com (which Louis Rossmann supports) requires a US phone number. So not only do I have to watch mass-appealing sponsorships I may have zero interest in (as the default without sponsorblock), but on the off chance I was interested, I, as a foreigner living outside of the US cannot purchase the goods and services being plugged.

Whole' lot of good sponsoring weed gummies and Keeps — US-exclusive products — to the Russian, German, Japanese, Argentine, and Malaysian viewers in the audience.

I have it. It's nice to have as an additional OPSEC tool. It has greatly reduced the amount of robocalls and spam I receive. But it will also creep you out, seeing how many companies you've never heard of have your personal information.

There's one line at 06:18 that is spectacularly mask-off and I don't think this guy realizes it.
"It's a privilege to say no."
Remember that the next time someone claims to only take sponsorships from brands they like.
It's a privilege to be an influencer/YouTuber.

You could probably expand the thread to include other platforms too, like Twitch and TikTok.

Twitch had its whole fiasco with Artesian Builds:

TikTok has its own ecosystem of shady sponsors:

This video also gives an interesting look into full-on fake-sponsor scamming operations with the goal of hijacking a YouTuber's channel:

Also yeah, you REALLY should include something about BetterHelp, considering the forum played a big role on that story.
Artesan Builds went belly up and everyone was fired, then hired by the same people who now own an entirely unrelated company named Starforge PC's or something like that. People like Cr1tical who put Artesan on blast weeks prior took deals with this NEW PC company that's totally not Artesan builds with a new sticker

To follow on from this post in July, Nerdecrafter has now shacked up with those paragons of virtue, Better Help.

Again, I'm mobilefagging and my phone isn't letting me take screencaps, but Jackie has claimed in the comments that she wasn't aware of Better Help's sterling reputation. Given how long the controversy surrounding Better Help has been running, and how incestuous the yt community is, I sincerely doubt that this is remotely true.

It looks very much like Jackie is hurting for cash right now. She has a number health problems, including autoimmune disorders (which will ruin your life, and then kill you) but she's Canadian, and has access to public health care services.

Something seems to be afoot. Also, in her latest video, "kitty editor" seems to be missing.

Hmm.

Are you fucking kidding me youtube? You just let this fucking happen? No red flags went up as you approved this?

The "sponsored" tag just means that some company sponsored the video and the creator disclosed it. Blame the sponsor, not YouTube.

Listen, does the truth matter if the truth might hurt our heccin' trans xisters? We just want basic human rights, like walking around with a buttplug in your ass at pride parades and not getting called the wrong pronoun when you rape your mother. Bit suspicious that you would even bring it up, chud. Not prove you are not a bigot and watch me fuck this balloon animal.
