Youtube Unveils new Youtube Heroes Program - Gives "Superusers" priority flags and access to staff

A lot of people are arguing that whilst Google has fucked up a lot with Youtube in the past, this may be one of, if not the biggest fuck up yet, and that's saying a lot given prior history on the matter. What am I discussing here? The new Youtube Heroes Program:

Info on the new program is here:

Each YouTube Hero who is in compliance with these Rules will be able to earn points for every qualifying contribution to YouTube (such as accurately flagging inappropriate content), that is verifiable and organic, and not gamed, improperly received or otherwise in violation of these Rules, including the YouTube Community Guidelines (each a “Qualifying Contribution”). We will determine each qualifying Contribution.

Any abuse of the point system, the Program, or other violative behavior, may reduce the points accrued in your program account and/or restrict or prohibit any aspect of your participation in the Program.

TL;DR: This new program gives a much greater degree of power to users based on two factors:

1. How much time they spend browsing Youtube.

2. How much the user is willing to seek out shit that offends them in order to specifically flag it.

I wonder what ideology we've repeatedly covered due to lolcow involvement fills those exact requirements.

they want their own production company and over the top paid for streaming channel. it is all subtle forcing out of all unprofessional videos. youtube is a brand in their company they know will generate revenue. youtube red was just testing the waters. they want in five years to have youtube to be a netflix style service. this is why real social media sites like facebook have rolled out more perks to their video platforms.
If that is their goal, they are even more moronic.

Youtube lives off of the "unprofessional videos", it's pretty much their raison d'être. If they decided to get rid of anything that makes them un-Netflix, they won't retain anything. And even worse, if their goal is to be some sort of paid streaming site with original series, their Youtube brand is actually a hindrance, they'd be off a lot better if they started some new Brand or try refurbish Youtube Red.

What I'm trying to say: if they try to completely change into such a system, their old original brand is such a huge weight on their legs, they would be off far better if they started something new instead of just fucking up what they already have.

Nah it's really not a big deal. At least for people making real content. If you're making legit professional videos you have nothing to worry about because you know how corporations work. And I'm not sorry for the nerds yelling at their webcams if they take a hit because they do not belong on a platform with professionally produced content. They whined about the monetizion a month ago and now it's this sjw conspiracy. And next month they're gonna whine about another perceived thought crime that will end YouTube.
Its Youtube not ProfessionalTube

I see one of three outcomes from this.

1. Worst fears are realized, cliquetards get in place (regardless of subspecies; Social Justice and /pol/ equally likely), turn commenting into a fucking minefield and quickly abuse their power. Google forced to do away with the Heroes program entirely or risk migrations to another website.

2. The entire thing goes as used as Google Plus. Google quietly pulls the plug. Nobody notices. World keeps on turning.

3. We arrive somewhere between 1 and 2. Entire thing becomes an annoying shitstorm as multiple warring factions squabble like exceptional individuals for control. Google pulls the plug because moderating that shit takes more effort than the lack of moderatorship they already had.
What are the typical SJWs and /pol/sters saying about this? I imagine Brianna is happy

Wu hasn't mentioned it. In fact, none of the usual suspects have aside from basic lip-service towards it. Quinn hasn't, Chu hasn't, and even Gallant hasn't. Which is where things get a little curious - because something fucking amazing has happened. It's something I don't think I've seen since Brianna Wu got tag-team savaged by both sides of the GG divide after a particularly autistic sperg-fest that also got her banned from Gamerghazi, Randi Harper cooperating with KIA to dig out Nora Reed, or perhaps both sides agreeing that Chloe Sagal is a fucking mental-case.

Despite reading like something the usual suspects would schlick themselves raw over, apparently fucking nobody wants Youtube Heroes. A huge number of SJWs have actually come out against the program, not because they disagree with the idea, but because they sense a potential for abuse by their mortal enemies and this scares the shit out of them.

On Gamerghazi, they had this to say:

Both sides of the divide, /pol/ and SJW alike, have responded by mass-reporting the video itself for bullying. It's nice to know that in this world where everything's in chaos and Autism is everywhere, the Internet as a whole can come together to make fun of something stupid.

The video has gotten, as of this moment, rougly 59 times the number of dislikes it has likes. This ratio is growing as we speak and odds are good we will hit a 1:100 like/dislike ratio by the end of next week.

At this point, I just want to watch this site burn itself to the ground. And this will probably be the thing, or at least, one of the first of many things to do it.

8 year olds, dude
8 year olds, sjw's, anti-sjw's, or any other group that susceptible to sperging. Whether one thinks it's an SJW conspiracy like @Jaimas implies or a corporate related thing @CatParty speaks of, this thing can end up being abused by people with certain biases. On the bright side though, because you have many speds trying to take down other videos, this could (though I could be very wrong) clean up YT of videos that are rather disgusting or stupid such as videos from furries where they engage in their costumed deviancy or some pro or anti GG/SJW spewing their idiotic and overdone ramblings.

Welp.

Anybody know a good way to direct download videos into mp4 format? Might as well start making a time capsule of Brote's channel.
I used clipconverter to download videos into mp4 format and also in mp3 format. Granted it's a website so it may not be what you are looking for.

I didn't even think it was conspiratorial so much as the fact that if you have a setup like this it's going to appeal to echo-chambering retards and there's one group of said echo-chambering retards that already has a prior history and a foot in the proverbial door.

Suffice to say I'm glad this whole thing turned into an apocalyptic shit-show and is blowing up in Google's face. It's currently holding with an almost 55:1 Dislike/Like ratio and roughly half a million dislikes. There's no spinning this faggotry as a win, no matter what they do.

YouTube attempted to memory hole the original video kek

:story:

Vid.Me keeps capitalizing on Youtube fucking up in hilarious ways.

SECONDARY UPDATE: The Taiwanese Animators have also added their textbook shit-stirring and would like to share it.

If you managed to, you'd most likely be able to see what sort of drama could occur if this did happen.

CatParty is right. YouTube/Google has wanted that sweet Netflix and Amazon Prime money for years. It's why they've tried to push their buy/rental program, why they introduced Red, and now why they're trying to get rid of all the lesser videos. In a few years, if you want to be the next PewDiePie, you'll have to be directly sponsored by YouTube or one of their partners (so they can get an even bigger piece of the pie).
Lesser videos will fall by the way side, shitty content producers like DSP will see their income/views take a massive dive as Google curates the results, and anything that could be seen as offensive by advertisers will be flagged and removed by Google's unpaid employees/heroes.

It's time for another Aesops fable!

A YouTube was soaring through the internet when suddenly it heard the whizz of an takedown report, and felt itself wounded to death.

Slowly it fluttered down to the google, with its sourcecode pouring out of it.

Looking down upon the takedown report with which it had been pierced, it found that the report had been flagged with one of its own userbases.

"Alas!" it cried, as it died. "We often give our users the means for our own destruction."
