Sorry, I couldn't find a topic similar to this.
Basically... Youtubers you used to think were good, but then they started sucking.
And I just know everyone is gonna name Nostalgia Critic, AVGN, or else some other Channel Awesome alumni.... go ahead, get it out of your systems.
For me tho the prominent example is Derek Alexander, who went under two names--first, the Happy Video Game Nerd. Later he changed his name to Stop Skeletons From Fighting.
Happy Nerd was his golden era, where he felt like he had honest enthusiasm for the subject. One criticism people tend to have is that a lot of the games he talked about are pretty well-known... thing is, they weren't well-known back when he covered them (save maybe for Earthbound) so you could argue he's the reason we even know about stuff like Wild Guns today.
That said, even back then some of the problems started showing. In his video on the Splatterhouse trilogy for example, he stops the review to make a rant about how despite the game being bloody its totally moral and not something moral guardians should be upset about. Derek has also always had a bit of an irritating attitude that can come off as almost insulting (this was most prominent during his Mega Man 9 review, which to be fair he apologized for).
When his channel's name changed to Stop Skeletons From Fighting, at first all was well because it seemed like a natural continuation of what he was already doing as the Happy Nerd. But the longer the show went on the worse things got. Of course, he got more woke, and that always sucks...
...But for me the worse things were that his content became more normie-tier. He went from talking about forgotten gems to talking about games everyone knows or even just retarded subjects like a video about Nintendo game titles that could, if you really squint, sound like sexual innuendos. His series "Punching Weight" is supposed to be about games that do amazing things with their level of technology (for example 3D platformers on the Gameboy Advance) but one of the videos is about fucking Ring Fit Adventure for the Switch. In general a large portion of his videos are about Nintendo concepts and peripherals....
... But for me the biggest problem was he started repeating content. For example, he did a video about fan-translated horror games.... and the last third of the video is about Sweet Home, a game he had dedicated a full review to during his Happy Nerd era. His most recent video is about the 3DO port of Doom, which again is something he's discussed before. Nowadays it feels like he likes to hit the same subjects over and over, and it gives you the feeling he's lost the enthusiasm and is just spinning his wheels.

Anyway, that's my opening sperg-out.
Got any Youtubers you used to like who jumped the shark? (And preferably not ones who already have a separate thread on the farms).
