You get reactions to the most retarded shit as well, I really don't see why I should watch some LARPing pagans or niggers reaction to a Hungarian folk song. Why are people doing this and why are there retards that watch it
Especially when I'm searching for a certain song, and a reaction video by some nogs is within the first few results.
That is the fun part about reaction videos. If it is some kind of famous song the search results will be clogged up with people whose reactions (if you can call them that) amount to a bunch of long-winded fluff where they say barely anything of significance the entire video.

Video essay creators and commentary channels have created a glut of low-effort garbage.
I thought Hololive Vtubers were pretty cool at first, especially Gura and Kiara. The more I learned about the corporate nature of Vtubers, the less interested I got. Just felt weird even ironically simping for them. Gave me the same vibes as those idols who are basically owned by their companies.

I personally recall it happening around 2016, with CleanPrinceGaming's videos. I don't remember there being any other YouTubers doing the same thing before that, but then there was the whole "CPG has bad takes" phase, and then ironically that style of video-essay-with-lo-fi-and-VHS-transitions blew up. Maybe there were some other people making video essays prior to 2016, but it was only around that period that I first noticed them becoming a thing.

Haven’t watched him in several months, but the vibe I got was his YouTube fame/money being a winning lottery ticket (especially for a kid living in bumfuck Chelyabinsk — no offense but that city seems like a joke even to other Russians). With that, Roman decided to pander to Google/YouTube as much as possible to keep the gravy train coming (hence the very performative “YouTuber persona”). He’s also doing the Ethan Klein story arch where he started as a kid who dunked on SJWs when it was in-style but “repented” and supported BLM when it became the next big thing.
