If this thread doesn't get the Plagued tag after a week I will be in shock.

For what it's worth as I frequent there I don't think anyone there will care. If it does happen, they should just be told "Go back" in unison, it'd be the funniest shit since that's generally the response if posters there recognize when someone's from another board.By the way expect fuckers from there to come here to bitch or shit the thread, they believe our thread is the inferior and cucked place to discuss the topic just because we are not burning all our money or thirsting like hyenas
Technically they did, one character in particular, Gawr Gura, has her own dounjinsji convention. No idea on the Western side because Covid and all, but the Japs have had their fair share of conventions, and this is the 2nd Gawr Gura focused one.I want to make the connection that v-tuber fans are eerily similar to the brony craze from around 2010. They have similar features, such as:
- Following an insanely banal topic
- Sexualizing said topic, bronies being creepy because they're cartoon animals, and v-tuber fans being creepy because it's cartoons of real people
- Inserting said topic into anything, such as bringing it up in conversation, changing their avatars to support it, or constantly posting pictures of it
- Getting incredibly angry when mocked or criticized (or when their subject is mocked or criticized), although this is true for any fandom
- Letting this topic infect their daily lives (wearing merch, trying to get their friends or family to watch it, spouting off catchphrases)
- Being obsessed over the "lore" surrounding their favorite character/setting
- Being laughed at by anyone not apart of their interest, with the people who tolerate them only finding them annoying
- The viewers look exactly like you'd imagine them being
The only distinction bronies have is v-tubers don't dress up like their characters or hold conventions, yet...as far as I'm aware of. Also, many v-tuber fans who hear me make this comparison get upset over it, so I guess they have that going for them. So if you ever want to troll these people easily, just take the same approach you would if you wanted to troll bronies.
For real though, I wouldn't go as far as to call most vtube fans pedophiles, but between the obnoxious high-pitched voice, the young anime girl look, and the cutesy aesthetic some of the popular vtubers have, it's easy for an outsider to draw that conclusion. Even the ones that don't look like a young girl, I really don't see what unique thing they bring to the table other than having a cutesy uwu anime girl avatar.
Theres a reason they're all anime girls.
ogey - dismissive statement usually accompanied by a picture like the one at the top, "ogey schizo", etc
rrat - narrative, either for the poster to call something fake, or to purport a fake claim as real by hiding it behind irony, "x having a boyfriend is a rrat", "my rrat is that x is a tranny"
I don't think that's so obvious. Are they afraid if their audience knows they are hags they wouldn't continue being the vile simps they are?though they don't admit their real ages for obvious reasons
This was her first stream on Chris, she's a huge fan of Metokur and is said to lurk on boards. In this stream she uses KF terminology and sources events back to the CWCki.Here we have a clash of two subcultures, both sides equally deranged, the world of Christian Weston Chandler (and court updates) as told by a cute anime avatar.
I foresee great things to come for this one.
I agree with you for the most part. Nobody should be delusional enough to actually believe they have a chance to date/fuck/etc their Oshi. I watch Vtubers for the same reason that most people watch regular streamers; entertainment. As far as relationships go, it ends at that line. I am a viewer, and they are a streamer.I really have no respect for anyone who is a Vtuber fan. How lonely do you have to be to pretend that a squeaky-voiced cartoon girl is streaming for you? I wouldn’t mind it as much if the Vtuber themselves simply wanted a character to represent them and emote during streams as a substitute for showing their face, but the fact that they have to pretend to be all cutesy, childish, and have a loli model half the time sends off several red flags in my head.

Autism, always the answer.I really have no respect for anyone who is a Vtuber fan. How lonely do you have to be to pretend that a squeaky-voiced cartoon girl is streaming for you?

Also I will never get over how a fair amount of them have that ear piercing voice that gets really grating... How can anyone sit through that?
I'm speaking from the view of a relative normie. I wouldn't go as far as to say that all or even most animufags/vtubefags are pedos, but the shit mentioned is definitely there to appeal to a certain demographic. The fact that that's the shit that gets popular and shoved into everyone's face when there's plenty of better/less creepy stuff out there is what makes it even more weird. This is an old argument about anime in general. You like Evangelion? Sure, it features giant robots fighting, but it also features two teenaged protagonists who are sometimes sexualized and that's the only reason you're watching it you fucking pedophile. Azumanga Daioh? I mean, why else would you watch a whole series about high school girls except to jack it at the half an episode where they go to the beach or whatever? Up against the wall, pedophile.
If anything, vtubers are even less pedophilic than your average anime girl; most of them don't even bother to pretend that they're adults (though they don't admit their real ages for obvious reasons) and the limited range of motion of the "2D" models means it's hard to do intentional panty shot or deep cleavage angles and that sort of thing you often see in anime. And then, of course, there are the popular male tubers too. Speaking of which…

That's the only vtuber I'd ever be interested in watching, tbhWould be amusing to see a Fat Ugly Bastard vtuber.
I wasn't trying to say that they're all pedophiles, but... I'm just saying that if they're a lolicon Vtuber fanatic, I wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole. Obviously, not all Vtubers try to push the lolicon aesthetic, but there are those that do. So for the fans that go crazy for them, well... you know. Otherwise, I would just consider them very lonely people.I'm speaking from the view of a relative normie. Sadly, I don't, but there are archives from that time. Here's a link if you would like to take that dive. https://warosu.org/jp/thread/S26815338#p26817165@Expressive Waffle Iron do you have any caps from the Amelia "stalker" from /jp/?
