US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

This is gearing up to be another eventful and probably another week of disaster for Biden. Have the immigrant invasion at the southern border, has to talk to the UN, the debt ceiling crisis will probably start ramping up, his infrastructure deal is laying in ruins. Never a dull moment.

They've had empty coffers for a while, and it dates back to 2016. They've had problems getting financed before (some really spectacular cases, even), but it really hit full burn in 2016.

During that time, one stipulation that Hillary's camp had for accepting the nomination was that the DNC would essentially turn its war chest over to Hillary's campaign staff. Considering that the DNC was solidly behind her and several of their highest staff were her supporters, it isn't exactly surprising that the DNC went along with it, but it was still a fucking disaster.

The DNC is no stranger to massive financial mismanagement, but I don't think even their bean-counters expected this shit. Hillary's campaign held onto thousands of useless staffers long after they weren't necessary, often paying six-figure salaries to people who didn't need to show up. They sucked dry the campaign funds reserved for basically every downticket democrat to finance her time, and she outspent Trump that season just in ad buy-ins by a fucking ludicrous degree, grossly eclipsing the money the Angry Orange laid down somewhere like 3-to-1.

While I left the DNC in 2009, a few of my old co-workers remained, and from what they told me, the fuck-ups with people being paid for not showing up were the tip of the proverbial iceberg: try full speaking engagements that never actually happened but got fully paid for and money quietly funneled into legal defense funds for DNC staffers. According to them, the DNC actually ran well into the Red during this shit, and mostly got away with it since everything would be fine if they stopped Trump - something that should sound quite familiar, if you've been following @Gehenna's posts.
Its a bit more complicated than that. You forget Saint Barack doing his usual community organizing thing back in 2008 which was the major cause of all those woes, as he ran a parallel organization to the establishment and the DNC, cutting them out of the picture for funding while simultaneously they were forced to support him for obvious reasons. Now, after 8 years of that they were indeed spent, and so when Hillary came around with the Faustian bargain of "Give me full control", the carrot she used to sweeten the deal was that she would fund the DNC's activities. Except she didn't as a candidate, couldn't as President, and now thanks to her loss the Clintons as a whole are now circling the drain as their chief source of income, influence peddling, is unavailable due to a lack of influence to peddle.
I don't think Twitter has had an actual profitable year to date.
I think its had all of two quarters total. I have no idea how or why they keep getting money.
McConnell's only good at political sausage-making, and robbing his constituents.

The man is more unpopular than Pelosi. And on some days, he's more unpopular than Schumer and Pelosi combined. He's an asset to Kentucky, but even a chunk his own party can't stand him.

Unironically, it's time to ditch Cocaine Mitch.
Yep. He's already been given formal censure by the state-level party for his fuckery, IIRC. The man is absolutely not liked.
Hopefully they don't rape any of those "women", but I sincerely doubt there's many of those there.
Who thought whipping haitians was good optics in the DNC.
Did they run out of money so much that theyve reverted back to drunk rednecks?

Like holy shit, their threats of government shutdown are the equivalent of "give me money to buy a switch or ill shit myself," how fucking stupid are they.
The US border enforcement agencies like the BP and the other one that escapes my name right now are majority first and second gen immigrants. Turns out Jose Alvarez the legal immigrant and his native-born son Juan utterly despise line-cutters.

ICE, which is around a third hispanic IIRC. Border Patrol is nearly half.

Harris doing such a great job handling the border situation. Notice how the replies to the tweet are saying that the migrants aren't being whipped because uh they're actually using reins

Joe Biden's America everyone.
Alex Jones is saying that Joe is shitting his pants and likes to watch his staff cleaning it up. He also refuses to wear diapers. Big if true.
I almost yearn for the days when I could dismiss Alex Jones as a crackpot. I expected Biden to be crapping himself but to take a perverse joy in it is too far.

I've run on Schadenfreude for years. Am I a broken husk of a man? Yes. But being right is more important than having a soul.
AOC is threatening to kill the bipartisan infrastructure deal if the Senate doesn't pass the 3.5 trillion dollar deal by September 27th. @Gehenna is this some of that civil war spilling out a bit? I know different from the White House shit by this feels like a proxy of that.
Gehenna did say that it would spill into congress. So yes.

I see this week is starting out great for the Biden Admin.
That is most of its -income-. Not profits, income. And given they have been paying back most of their heavy debt load, they are unlikely to have much if anything in reserve.
They -didn't- punt it? Oh, that is not a good sign so long as Mississippi has a novel arguement.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
@Gehenna, thoughts? What does this mean for the Republican faction of the cabal? Also, is this actually feasible, or is Trump blowing hot air?
First off, there is no Republican faction of the cabal, they made deals with the Republicans but it's Democrats all the way down. Part of why it's backfiring so hard right now. Second, this is hot air, but thats the point. It's showing McConnel he's no longer as secure as he once was. Trump is insane enough to split the ticket, if McConnel does him dirty again.
"I can't replace you, but I can take you down with me".
@Gehenna Dems have hit a whole new level of sweaty with this infrastructure bill shit lmao, it's beautiful to watch. Now they're trying to link the suspension of the debt ceiling to the bill's passing.

That's... that is an -awful- idea. Truly impressive with how awful it is. The entire reason that the Debt Ceiling fight hurts whoever tries it is that Americans see it as playing games with our well-being. By bundling it with signature legislation, it makes it abundantly clear -your own side is playing games-, and gives whichever side opposes it the green light to oppose it without fear of retribution.

Potentially yes, with it flagging they see the opportunity to make gains. AOC is pretty close to controlled opposition but like the RINOs she's an opportunist. If you see any other members of the squad join in or Maxine waters, the answer is Yes.

All excellent points, good Snek.

It's kind of ridiculous just how much damage Obama did to the Dems as a whole. Probably the most destructive Dem that wasn't Harry Reid.

What...? Are you (or is she) trying to claim those are two separate things? ...dare I ask how that's even possible?

Obama damaged the entire government, by weaponizing the administrative state for political gain.
Obama may not have singlehandedly masterminded it but on top of that under him woke broke the bounds of academia and tumblr and became a domestic religion and an excuse for continued foreign intervention overseas. Obama and his administration were a mistake and the catalyst for clown world 2021.

They are! The 3.5 Trillion things is the budget reconciliation deal, the Infrastructure bill is a separate giant pile of pork. Confusion is forgiven since the infrastructure bill was very much pushed as "Attach it to reconciliation", but they are separate.

Oh...that's 3.5 trillion for stuff the government is obligated to spend for X number of years correct?

Right, thank you for the reminder. Speaking of that, anyone else remember the names of the two BP agents Trump pardoned for blasting that drug runner in cold blood? Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, two astoundingly Northern European names. /sneed

Cut us some slack. Its hard to keep track of which gigantic non-compromise bill the Dems are trying to shove through this what, day? Hour? Millisecond? We've gone full Abbot and Costello "Who is pushing infrastructure, what is pushing debt ceiling" nonsense with the legislative clown car of bills that's the Democrat party.

His ideology would have worked in a homogenous mayo society with high in group bias. He was trying to emulate FDR, as before the whole commie revolution of 2020, the hero of progressives overall was FDR.

Many of the original progressives were also the most racist fuckers ever when it came to dealing with non whites. That is why it failed partly, the people that supported Bernie had high levels of white guilt and believed ironically enough the same shit that many conservatives fall into. Oh these non whites will be one day based like us. Bernie lost the primaries also because he had no black support in the Democrat primaries. If he got at least 50 percent, he would been on the ballot for November in 2016 and 2020.
That explains why BLM heckled him back in 2016

I don't think they realize that nobody cares in the US government gets shut down.

If they close the parks, like under Obama, nobody will care, since we can't go out anyway.

If some Feds don't get paid, nobody cares.

To be honest, nobody would care if the government got shut down completely for a few weeks.

IT ISN'T LIKE THEY'VE BEEN DOING ANYTHING BUT TAKING VACATIONS SINCE BIDEN TOOK OFFICE!

So who gives a shit. Shut that shit down.
I wouldn't give 1/3 of a half a shit if the government shutdown was just the tards in the House and Senate and any 3-letter agency who told each other to go home and fuck themselves. But the stupid government shutdown nonsense includes all federal employees, which means not just the Parks, but 90% of NASA will get shut the hell down again too. Last time this happened, telling the NASA employees to go home and jerk off to Hidden Figures forced SpaceX, ULA, Boeing etc to keep working while praying that those government checks were eventually going to start coming in again. Some of these launch windows cannot be missed because then you have to wait from months to fucking years to get another window, which is not exactly something you want to roll up to the CEO of Lockheed Martin and let him know that you blew millions on prepping to launch a spacecraft that's now grounded until 2025 because the fuckups in Washington shut the government down. Imagine SpaceX scrambling next month's trip to the ISS because there's nobody working at fucking Cape Canaveral to give them the green light to launch! It's an embarrassment to the entire community and visible on a global scale.

While I know many here including myself will not exactly cry over Boeing or Musk or Bezos getting a little less government cash to fly cool rockets, stupid shit like this is why NASA is getting absolutely spanked by these same private companies, and why China, Russia, Japan, and fucking India of all places are dreaming about how close they are to overtaking us in this 21st century Space Race. Plus all of those multimillion dollar satellites and probes we shot up there, and all the fancy telescopes down here, are not going to be collecting essential data because if the government shuts down, there's nobody to receive, categorize, and interpret that information. It's obviously a mega First World Problem but back in 2019 if you were at a conference and took a shot every time someone giving a talk mentioned the effect the shutdown had had on their data collection and therefore their project/paper/model/thesis, you would have died before making it to the second day of panels.

It's a domino effect that reaches a hell of a lot farther than you might think, even bullshit like the National Parks being closed means that some zoologist or whatever isn't going to be able to do their work with like wolves or grizzly bears or whatever, and the geologists and whoever in Antarctica aren't going to be able to study alien temples Nazi UFOs the entrance to the hollow Earth whatever it is they study there, and so on and so forth. This shit ripples out and effects normal people at all levels, not just the circle jerk morons in DC.

Stupid bullshit government shutdowns are holding back the scientific community from major breakthroughs as well as their routine work, and it's asinine that we're going to have to watch Washington literally retard our progress once again.

We could always just go ahead and demolish American "democracy". Not too many would cry over it at this rate. Better to end it as a farce now than as a tragedy later.
