Body Found in Wyoming Park ‘Consistent With the Description' of Gabby Petito - FBI confirmed - Brian Laundrie still missing, FBI searched his home

I'd be willing to bet there are over 100 undiscovered bodies in national parks out west. I wouldn't even be surprised if the corpse they found was someone other than Gabby. Jane and John doe cases are something I work with pretty regularly. It's amazing the sheer number of bodies out there with nobody to claim them.
BCIS routinely finds dead bodies in national parks along the border such as Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, to name a particularly notorious one. Dead bodies, mostly of immigrants and people in the drug trade, are routinely found there. Once, 13 murdered Salvadorans were found there. They'd hired human smugglers, or coyotes, to take them across the border for a fee. Instead, presumably, the smugglers simply robbed them and murdered them. It's also nasty territory so plenty of people just succumb to the climate, die of dehydration, or suffer other misadventures. They often aren't found for years.
I'm honestly surprised that the body was found at all without the guidance of the prime suspect, but I guess I was overestimating the guy's competence in getting away with murder when he most likely just ditched the body in panic near a human path.
There are plenty of places in Wyoming where you could leave a dead body out in the open without even covering it and it wouldn't be found in years. Much of the Red Desert is completely uninhabited. In any event, even if you were more careful and actually buried it, you'd have plenty of time and no need to worry about being caught in the act.

Yeah and if a you had a bf who slapped you once in a while because you burned the dinner or weren't ready in time, you wouldn't resort to shooting him in his sleep or anything like that either.

Don't pretend you'd know how you'd react if you were in a toxic relationship where you get hit (and apparently hit back) unless you're in one. Then you'll know just where you'd go.
Oh boo hoo, poor widdle Bri bri. If I was in a toxic relationship I would simply leave it because I have a pair of testicles and a working brain, unlike Brian who is apparently hostage to this 90 lbs soaking wet woman. Murking my gf over it would be completely retarded and inexcusable, and I'd say the same thing about a woman shooting her bf who hit her a few times.

It's what niggers do - if Brian did it, and he almost certainly did, he's a white nigger who should hang.

Why is the media covering this so much? Crimes like this happen every day in America. Is the victim the daughter of some billionaire or something?

A lot of stories like this get media coverage. This one is big right now. But they'll be another soon enough. I really don't think it's strange. The news stations pander to true crime nuts and people who cry over missing white women or are mad that missing POC women don't get enough attention. It's win-win all around for the networks and news sites.

I won't speculate too much into the circumstances and cause of her death, but I will wager that the whole ordeal was really stupid.

The fact that he went back to his lawyer to weigh his options seems to suggest that it wasn't a cold-blooded murder, since he presumably thought there might be an out. Evidently, he didn't like what he heard.

Powerlevel me, idgaf. I'm in Wyoming rn on vacation and the day the body was found I saw a cop pulled over looking through tall grass on the side of the road, I'm guessing for her. Half an hour later after I had left that area and came back I saw that it had been closed off because they had found her body. I must have driven right past the dump site while she was still there, undiscovered. Creeps me the fuck out.

I think it caught a lot of attention because of how strange the case first started and the fact that they were vlogging the entire trip on their YouTube channel and it really shows you how fake people can be in their videos they act like the perfect couple and that their trip is the best decision they've made together only to find out behind the scenes they were fighting to the point of violence and him ending with killing her (being the most likely scenario) and yeah it doesn't hurt she's white or attractive but I think the social media aspect is why it blew up.

I think he's dead to a self inflicted gunshot wound out in the middle of the woods. I think most everything else is too far fetched. I would be surprised if he's still alive.

I think in the heat of the moment he decided to kill her, thought he could cover it up as leaving without her and she got lost. There's no way he thought there'd be this much attention on it and when that other YouTuber saw the car and they found the body he knew he was fucked.
He's chillin with the game dude.

It's probably already been said, but it's genuinely horrifying that some tiktok thot's disappearance cause's such a media uproar, when hundreds of thousands of children go missing every year.

The world makes a lot more sense when you come to realize the over socialized people that make up a big of our society have no genuine convictions or moral standards, and are just moving with the herd to feel validated and experience something resembling a human emotion.

Hardly anyone who will make this out to be anything other than a simple murder genuinely gives any more of a shit about this girl than the people who went from "believe woman" to throwing out baseless excuses for why the spa perving tranny incident had to be fake or the anti-gun advocates who treat the annual death toll to firearms as some kind of nation-ending existential crises while simultaneously downplaying the massive government overreach in response to a virus that killed 100x as many people as a minor inconvenience that we all just need to live with.

All of it is no more deep than a child play acting.

Calling him a "youtuber" is extremely generous. They were nobody, she was just trying to get a youtube channel started while on this trip.

I don't think he even had anything to do with the channel other than being the guy who drove the van who she posed with sometimes. They had like one video and a couple tiktoks and their instagrams. The internet fame was a pipedream, not reality.
Still bigger e-celebs than Chris Chipman will ever be.
That autistic girl who went missing in Malaysia got 1/5th of the coverage this case got.
That case actually cuts me deeper because she looked so childish.
Like IDK what it is, but a perceived peer getting killed versus a child getting killed, the child just cuts deeper IMO.

I hope her killers die painfully, in any case.

A dead child is wasted potential, innocence and what not. I understand why you feel it cuts deeper.

literally describes https://www.reddit.com/r/GabbyPetito/

I was bored earlier today and the farms was having issues so i was browsing the daily discussion thread. I found a comment where someone was like 'I have just found out about this and would like to know more can anyone give me a timeline?'

The top reply was basically 'Just google it. I've been paying attention to this for multiple days and just so much has been happening It's hard to describe'...like wtf no...nothing has really been going on and theres only like 3-4 major events in this whole thing. Then I clicked on a 'livestream' and it was literally 5,000 people watching a 'dead stream' but it was of the Laundrie's house (i believe)...5 THOUSAND people just sitting and watching an empty live stream essentially. I hope they have multiple tabs open but they seem insane either way.

With the speed of information you get situations like this as well...

So much this, people today have no bullshit detectors. Everyone that describes her as a cutie, pretty, a 10/10 etc can't see she's average at best, her body is meh and she has no boobs but damn did those filters do the job.

Also, what a thing to aspire to: Van Life Vlogger. Many here have mentioned that the ones that are successful are trust fund kids raining money on outfitting a van and even they will admit it's a shit way to live. These two didn't have any money and the van itself was crap so the inevitable outcome shouldn't come as a surprise.

This incident is the product of a superficial society, where appearance is everything and insincerity the key to success. People their age used to aspire to getting a good job, marrying the right person, buying a nice home and raising a family, in that order (and up until the 90s most people still did). That's becoming harder and harder to do, nigh impossible for many. I think that knowledge is always in the background, this nagging feeling that things should be different, but they can't quite understand why or who's to blame. So they see a Vice or puff piece on some rich kid riding around the country in a van and impulsively decide that's for them. When it's not at all what they believed the disappointment, depression even, sets in. Not being stable to begin with they take it out on each other. And this clusterfuck is the result.
