Can’t Phil’s bankruptcy be revoked if the parties who have a stake in the matter discover fraud was committed after the fact that it was granted? Really crazy that he can just eek on past the system like that, like all you have to do is show the court his transactions and it shows he has the ability to pay his creditors off…idk, it’s a tall order. Whatever I guess.
Yes but I actually think their is a time limit for when that could happen and I think we have passed it. Once it was finalized for him no one was ever going to look into him again. They didn’t look into his bullshit when it was ongoing so why would they look after the fact?

Not to mention the time and money. Let’s face it: Phil isn’t some million-dollar company with great influence.

If only he had opened that restaurant…

Friendly reminder that the kind of shit that DSP pulled actually happens every fucking day.

And that the current law that governs bankruptcies was made to MAKE THEM
HARDER TO ABUSE.

Democrats were of course up in arms when it was passed, because how dare those evil Republikkans try and make it harder for people to avoid the consequences of irresponsible spending.

TLDR: If you’re hoping for some kind of “bankruptcy justice” saga, keep dreaming.

I don't know how he can even spin this.

It would be very easy for him to play the depression card once again, and in my opinion, it would be a rightful play to make.

What type of person spends an excessive amount of money on alcohol, and therefore drinks an excessive amount of alcohol?
Drinking heavily and regularly is associated with symptoms of depression, although it can be difficult to separate cause and effect. This means it’s not always clear whether drinking alcohol causes a person to experience symptoms of depression. What we do know is that alcohol affects several nerve-chemical systems within our bodies which are important in regulating our mood.

What type of person spends money compulsively and frivolously to the point where they put themselves at risk of destitution?
According to a study by the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute (MMHPI), financial difficulties are both a common cause and consequence of depression. In fact, the study concluded that sufferers often find themselves unable to manage routine tasks such as budgeting. It may be because depression impacts memory and focus and feels so overwhelming that it stunts our ability to plan and make decisions. After all, for someone in the midst of depression, the primary focus is trying to put one foot in front of the other rather than plan for the future.

What type of person isolates themselves from the outside world and minimises all social interaction?
Depressed people report fewer intimate relationships, and elicit fewer positive, caring responses and more negative, rejecting responses from others (Gotlib, 1992; Joiner & Coyne, 1999; Segrin & Abramson, 1994). Depressed people also appear to induce negative affect in others, which, in turn, elicits rejection and the loss of socially rewarding opportunities (Coyne, 1976a; Joiner & Katz, 1999).

It's also no secret that Phil hates his "job". He gets no enjoyment playing games for a living, and he gets no enjoyment being at the behest of his viewers. Have you ever worked a job that you despised? It's soul-crushing, but I bet you had the gumption to say fuck this and move on. It wouldn't matter to you if you were there for 10 weeks, 10 months or 10 years. But Phil? We all know that Phil admitting to a mistake is like Phil admitting that the mentally ill conspiracy theorists were right all along.

You don't have to like Phil to acknowledge that he clearly has severe depression and anxiety (the leg bounces, rocking, etc, stimming when things are really dire). Just because he can turn on a webcam and act the clown, that doesn't mean it's fake. If anything, it makes it more obvious because Phil's attempts at acting "happy" are downright not-of-this-Earth. But he's only talking to himself at the end of the day, so he can project whatever version of himself he wants, and it doesn't really matter if it doesn't convince anyone because he doesn't have to read what people say. It isn't that Phil is impervious to criticism, he is just wilfully oblivious to it (á la The Silent Majority™).

If Phil could be honest with himself and his viewers (whales and trolls alike) and say "Yeah, I fucked up, I've been in a really dark place for a long time now and this is how I coped" then any person with even a modicum of empathy would start seeing him in a different light. I am not saying that all would be forgiven, but it would at least provide a lot of context for his actions and people would be less inclined to hold him so accountable, especially if he was to actively seek help in order to change. He would appear more human, because we all make mistakes.

If Phil could be honest with himself ... If Phil could be honest with himself ... If Phil could be honest with himself ... And if pigs could fly.

What's happened is funny and arguably deserved - I'm not trying to take that away from any of you. But at the same time, sometimes I feel very sorry for Phil. Like an animal that's just been hit by a car, and now he's writhing and groaning on the ground, lit by headlights, exposed.

Agree. Phil isn’t living the high life, despite trying to spend like someone who is. He’s living in a personal hell of his own making. Which is 100% deserved, funny AND sad.

As for spinning it into “Muh depression”, there is one major problem with that. While it might get Phil outta hot water, it also brings an expectation to change himself for the better and make different life choices. And there is nothing Phil wants less than that.

Change=King of detractors and Phil’s archnemesis.

There was little doubt about Gin and Champions but now that the proof is more concrete, I'm just not sure where the show runners go from here. Watching him slowly circle the drain isn't particularly engaging. I'm sure there are surprises in store but seeing him kicked off of one platform only to return to a former is old hat at this point.

As an aside, I've always wondered if there was a redemption arc for Phil. Knowing he has a gambling addiction and is probably an alcoholic, this is as close to empathy as I could ever feel towards the guy. Getting professional help and being open with his audience could be the beginning of that arc. I doubt he'd ever do that as personal responsibility isn't his forte. And what would Phil be without his persecution complex and pathological lying? Which always brings the question for someone like me who came into the Philverse late, how did he ever get an audience in the first place?
I think Phil still provides plenty of entertainment while circling the drain. That's why so many of us have followed him for years now. He doesn't have *that* many big events, considering he's been active 6 days a week for 13 years. I'd even argue his biggest event is still him jerking off on camera, but despite that being years ago, he's still provided a lot of laughs.

It's things like him spending 10 days bitching about his burger king order that make him entertaining, or thinking he'll save his stream with some new gimmick only to reveal a nazi hat, then get butthurt when even his regular viewers start making fun of him.

I guess if we're speculating, Khet divorcing him could be a pretty big event, though I think we're still a ways off from that particular gem. I'm sure his Halloween fundraiser will be a dumpster fire. Holiday Phil in general tends to provide entertainment.

As for redemption, once upon a time, I think it was on the table for Phil. But, he's too far gone at this point and has fully embraced the hermit lifestyle. I feel like a lot of people got a small glimpse into the type of damage Phil's lifestyle can do during the quarantine, but even then, it wasn't even half of what it's like to be Phil, who has been living like that for years. At best, I'd say he could maybe improve, but even that seems like a stretch.

As for his audience, well, originally it was the YouTube algorithm working in his favor and rewarding his spamming of videos. As time went on, people started to hate/ironically watch him only to become fans. Others watch him because they're contrarian and hear Phil is so terrible that they decide to embrace him as a content creator to spite whoever said he was bad in the first place. Then there's the keyboard warriors who pretend Phil is an underdog being bullied, and because they themselves were bullied and never able to do anything/get over it, they spite watch and pretend to like Phil. Other than that, he has a couple of wheelchairs who genuinely seem to like his content and believe his lies.

Phil doesn't really understand what redemption is. He thinks it's everyone just forgiving his bad actions while doing Jack shit about it.

To compare him to Scrooge, whose story Phil claims to like, shows his misunderstanding. Scrooge was surrounded by people who wanted what was best for him but kept pushing them away. His encounters with the ghosts forced him to realise what his actions were doing. That he was hurting himself with his selfishness and how despite his outward apathy, he did still care about others.

Phil is nothing like that. Almost everyone hates his guts and even those who tolerate him know how bad he is. Phil thinks he's had his revelation (like the ghosts) but he hasn't. He expects everyone to just for forgive and forget his bad behaviour, without proving he has changed. He can't because he hasn't.

Redemption requires the ability to look inwards, a skill Phil actively avoids at all costs. Phil has a problem with his image but as he is now he can't fix it. After all, the first step to fixing a problem is to admit that you have one.

A fitting statement to use against an alcoholic.

Such a tough guy. Make sure to keep replies disabled pussy.

I mean he is right...

It is hilarious!

Hilarious that tough guy phil responded on his own newsfeed from his echo chamber for 1 rather than the thread he's quoting.

Also hilarious is this wheelchair inability to tell when people are being sarcastic or ironic and he's THAT delusional that he's telling people to read the replies and you'll see something thats not there. 2 maybe 4 people agree with him the rest are "it's the guy", surprised he's still alive and just making fun of him.

So yes he's right, it's hilarious. PP is the best DSP detractor.

those are the 5k a month business expenses, i thought
I recall during the call for the bankruptcy hearing, a guy representing one of the banks wanted to come back a little on those "5k a month business expense", and Phil's lawyer abruptly interrupted him, going so far as to say something like "are we really sure he represents XXX Bank ???" (like he was a tractor in hiding). The man was shocked BUT it achieved its purpose to drown the fish and they never went back to that particular issue. I remember being astonished at that, if somebody has the audio for this, look for it, it's amazing how the lawyer implies that the man is here to fuck the shit in DSP's perfectly oiled defense... They purposefully hide it, and the judge wasn't keen on digging a little.

That was a tractor in hiding. Legitimately.

He should really reconsider that “The Immortal” gimmick he gave himself on Twitter. Unless he means he is “The Immortal Joke”.
DSP is the character in a story who wishes for immortality and then ends up in some ironic predicament for eternity because he didn't think any of the implications through.

DSP is that wooden Jerry from Rick and Morty.

NEVAR FORGET!!!

Phil helped tank his own YouTube rankings, first by mass deleting comments, and then by basically nuking his own channel by completely turning off comments.

PHILosophers still aren’t sure to this day, whether it was because of his massive ego meaning more to him than $$$, or if Phil was too dumb to realize that YouTube counts engagements in its algorithms, and doesn’t differentiate between pahsitive comments and shitheads leaving hateful bullshit comments.

I could see Kat being pissed that Dave hasn't taken her anywhere cause of his WWE spending. She probably knew he played the game but not that he spent more on it than the fuckin mortgage.

Seriously, he could very easily afford a vacation for Kat if he just stopped playing WWE for a month.
The one notable thing we learned from this leak is that Phil's reckless spending directly affects him paying his mortgage. Most of us assumed Phil at least paid to keep his precious WAkhando safe, the one thing of value he has. No, he can't even do that.

And that must be concerning to Catherine. Women want security, especially in an arrangement like these lovebirds have. Forget trips, she can't assume she'll be safe in that khando long-term.

I think Kat's only on the gravy train until it derails, she cannot be unaware of what a trainwreck of a man her husband is nor with a simple google search see what his spending habits are, if he has somehow kept them from her. Likely she'll up and leave if/when the house is forclosed or Phil gets into serious cashflow problems that he can't keep her topped up with doordash, I'm not sure what the divorce courts are like in the US but surely you can say that Phil's gatcha addiction is clear grounds for divorce in her favour.

Any option looks bad. If it were anyone else I would point out how it should be impossible to not know. Everyone makes a big deal of the algorithm every time something changes, no matter how small it is. He'd have to be completely deaf to YouTube and twitter to have no at least heard or read about it.t It is fitting that Phil moves to a platform without researching how it works.

I do believe his ego takes priority above money if it doesn't mean money directly. It is an extension of his French Revolution like chat and his desire to not see the truth. If he left comments open, especially now with the leaks, you know trolls will take to the comments on each video. And we all know he never watches his kahntent after he uploads it and would never check the comments if he did.

Remember he always has to make the most feeble attempts to control the narrative. He's the only one who doesn't see how weak they are.
