I can't stand seeing my blood in a vial outside my body. I hate getting blood work done. Needles don't bother me, but seeing my blood in a vial just freaks me out

Lets say you have a virus that kills 100% of those it infects with a mutation rate in the 10^(-9) power or lower, with no other animal species capable of acting as hosts for the virus. You have a single dose vaccine that has zero side-effects, costs nothing to make, and can easily be transported to even remote and isolated communities.​

On the other hand, lets say you have a virus that kills 0.001% of those it infects with a mutation rate in the 10^(-1) power (or higher, if that's even biologically possible) and it can affect pretty much every other mammalian species and even a few birds & reptiles. You have a five-shot vaccine regimen that has both serious short-term and chronic long-term side effects, is extremely expensive to make, and is so fragile and needs special containment you can't reliably get it to most locations outside of urban areas.​

As you can see, in reality the situations are never so cut-and-dry.
OBVIOUSLY, its a good idea to get vaccinated against Rabies because Rabies is THE most lethal virus known to be capable of infecting humans.
Likewise, even a portion of the most ardent of germophobes could be inclined to agree that vaccinating against Rhinoviral "common colds" are probably a waste of time.

Now, factor in purely ideological/political/philosophical questions like "who should get the vaccine?", "should we force people to get the vaccine?", "who is liable for negative effects of the vaccine?", "is Homos sapiens overpopulated?", "do we have any responsibility to risk ourselves to protect strangers?", "does the government have a right to mandate our health?" and so on and so forth
What seems on the surface, in a perfect black-and-white world, to be simple is in fact a Pandora's Box buried in a 3-D maze between multiple XXL cans of worms.
