We don't know what was said in private either. For all we know, once the diagnosis was terminal, Beth told him not to wallow in grief for her after her passing, that she'd want him to be happy.

I mean, he and his family are still a trainwreck either way, but I can give a little bit of good natured doubt to this particular thing.

A Louisiana man believes he spoke with Brian Laundrie near Yellowstone National Park days before Gabby Petito’s disappearance. Hunter Mannies, who was traveling around the country in late August, described an "extremely uncomfortable" interaction with a man who looked like Laundrie and introduced himself as "Brian" at a local bar.

"It was an odd encounter," Mannies said on "Fox & Friends," noting that he didn’t know who Laundrie was at the time, as it was before Petito disappeared.

Mannies was traveling with a friend through Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. The pair stopped at a bar in West Yellowstone, Montana, after visiting the Tetons.

"There was a guy by himself at the end of the bar," Mannies said. "We really didn’t pay him much attention until he got kind of – he just seemed overly invested in our conversation and eventually ended up speaking up."

Mannies was discussing hunting and other things with his friend when the conversation turned political.

"[Laundrie] abruptly jumped into it with a comment about ‘stupid Southerners’ and some expletives about Republicans," Mannies told Fox News’ Steve Doocy.

Mannies has since contacted the FBI and filed a report along with his friend.

Mannies isn’t the first to report an encounter with Laundrie. Two women have separately come forward and each said they picked him up while he was hitchhiking through Grand Teton National Park.

The second woman, Norma Jean Jalovec, told Fox News Digital that she had picked up Laundrie on Aug. 29, two days after Gabby Petito was last seen. She claimed to have dropped him off at the Spread Creek dispersed camping area, where Petito’s remains were later discovered.

Laundrie asked Jalovec to drop him off at the gate of the campground, but she offered to drive him inside because there are miles of campsites. She said Laundrie then tried to get out of the moving car.

All three who have encountered Laundrie described unusual behavior. The first woman to pick him up said he "freaked out" and asked to get out of the car.


Mannies said his interaction with the man who he believes was Laundrie made him and his friend nervous.

It definitely looks like his parents helping him get away is the only reason he hasn't been caught yet. Let's see how long he sticks what what they told him to do until he does something off script and gets caught as a result.

As a side note, I'm still really interested in what he told them happened, and how closely related it is to reality. They went on a huge limb to help him, so if he went 'She came at me, I defended myself and accidentally killed her' and that's the reason they decided to help him, it's gonna be interesting to see how they react if the FBI comes and tells them 'Yeah she was stabbed 127 times, beheaded and had shoved a cactus up her asshole... that last part happened first', it's gonna be interesting how they will react.

I mean it's possible he straight up told them 'I murdered that bitch, she undercook my tendies' and they went 'Say no more', but I don't know, they really strike me as people who are trying to help their son get away with a punishment they don't think he deserves

Assuming she's telling the truth, it sounds like Brian either left Gabby behind and went back to kill her (however he did that, I'm not saying it couldn't have been an accident) or he had already done it and returned to the scene. The latter sounds like a really stupid move for someone on the run, so I'm thinking it's the former.

Although if he hadn't killed her yet, why would he have panicked when offered to be driven beyond the gates of the campground?

Much hay is being made in the news about Dog the Bounty Hunter finding a campsite on a "shell island" near the Egmont Key island where he found a Monster energy drink can. Yeah, not him. But the news totally thinks that it is a clue. Parks are packed with people running off to do off site camping bring their trash with them. If I were Brian, I would be burying any trash.
